Should have been more specific, yes I mean with an AR. I was thinking of building one along the lines of a recce but wasn't sure about specs. I also was wondering about thin barrel accuracy, would I have major problems trying to make it a mid-range shooter?
I was looking at folding iron sights and came across the mbus from magpul, I was wondering can you switch the aperture on the rear sight out with the CSAT and put the tritium insert from XS in the front sight?
I see a lot of people talking carbine vs mid-length gas systems. What about rifle length systems on a 16 inch barrel? what are the major pros and cons of one?
I know Recce is more of a concept than a specific type of carbine but what I'm trying to figure out is what exactly is the concept? Is it a m4 designed for mid-range precision shooting that can work for cqb or is it a a cqb carbine that can make precise mid-range shots?
Hopefully, I'll be wrapping my hands around a ar in the next couple of weeks. I've already started looking at various upgrades ( I know, shoot the thing first) and was wondering about getting my BCG NP3 coated or getting one of those failzero upgrade kits, are they worth it?
