Thank you lefties, maybe righties, or lefties, or which ever you choose, for all the comments. I will have my son read all the suggestions and let him decide what to do.:D
My son is a right hand shooter but he is left eye dominant. We could not figure out how he can shoot with a right hand rifle. He could not see the scope out of his left eye on a right hand rifle. What to do? Put a patch on his left eye and make him shoot with the right eye?
I could not get a consistent grouping (at 100 yard) with my handload 30-06 on my Rem 700 ADL. Couple shots are tight and the third one would be 2" way. It has been a frustrating trial and error on my reloading. I want to try couple box of commercial cartridges though it and see if it would group...
I use the Lee trimmer with the drill. It works OK but it a bit of a hassle to put the case on the holder and tighten it up with a plier. Otherwise it would slip out. It's is OK for a small number of brass. But I would go for something better if I want to trim 1000 casings.
Wild! stupid me. I did what you said Standing Wolf and it works, three hits and the bullet and powder spill out. Thank you for your help. I wish RCBS put a little picture with the product showing how it is used. I suprise them didn't I. Some people are just thicker than they thought.:D
I went an bought a RCBS pullet puller today. The one that looks like a hammer. I put the catridge inside the head and tighten the knob with the bullet sticking out. The thing seems to grap the bullet. But when hammer the head the cartridge slip out and the bullet is still in the cartridge. I...
Merry Christmas everybody
I went to the range and tested all the rounds that I loaded with proper resizing. All went in the chamber without difficulty and all went bang loudly:D .
I was surprised how well I shot yesterday evening, excellent groupings (5-6) for the first time with the new...
Well, I got started last Thanksgiving on this catridge reloading stuff. I learn a lot since then. It is not that difficult. It is a lot of fun shooting what you just realoaded the night before. There are things that you need to pay attentions to since this is dangerous stuffs. Follow the powder...
Well thank you for all the helps. Merry Christmas to everybody.
I think I found the problem. Like some of you have said I did not resize the case properly. That is the problem.
I tried couple of the casings that I have deprimed, resized, and washed this morning. I got couple casings stuck...
Thank for all the comments and suggestions. You all are very helpful as usual. I will measure all the rejected cartridges and record them. Maybe I learn something from it. This problem is really bugging me. It is kinda embarassing.
So here are what I will do:
- Clean the chamber, have not...
BTW, The OAL of the cartridges are under the max limits. I have a dial caliper at home I can check the neck size and the shoulder size of the cartidges tonight and see. Where can I find the correct cartridge dimensions for the 30-06?
I have this problem in the last couple batches of 30-06 that I reload. About 10-20% of my cartridges would not chamber all the way. The bolt of the rifle kinda stuck when I try to close the bolt, pushing it down. I did not try to force it any futher and take out the cartridges and set them a...
I want to know as well. I shot 1" or less grouping with my .22 rifle at 50 yard. But at 100 yard I could not get any consistency out of the gun or the bullet. I used the Rem Thunderbolt .22 LR. There was some wind on that day as well. So I guess that may have something to do withe the lack of...
