Someone has already mentioned titanium firing pins and extra power springs- that's all I use for what it's worth. I believe I read you can drop a titanium firing pin/extra power spring equipped 1911 from 60" on the muzzle without it going off.

I completely agree with an instructor being able to demo the teaching points in front of the class- no exceptions. Students will immediately call you out if you can't do what you're trying to teach them to do.

I've got Streamlight, Surefire, Fenix and for the money, the Fenix seems just as solid.

I've always been a fan of solid Kydex (recently the Safariland ALS systems)- nylon has always trapped water and rusted stuff up on me.
