No matter how much I train, I don't trust my sleepy 3AM eyes to focus on my front sight when a 250lb. crackhead with a butcher's knife is running up my stairs.
I think it's better to err on the side of safety one time out of many thousands, that your gun is loaded when it isn't, than to wrongfully assume it ISN'T loaded when it IS.
