Ruger 45 Long Colt, Redhawk only?

Hi Josey, Having had 2 Redhawk .45's and 3 or 4 other Ruger .45 Colts, I'd urge you to pass. The first Redhawk was accurate but had a binding problem and was sent back to Davidson's for replacement. The one I recieved couldn't achieve sub- 4.5" 6-shot groups at 25 yds. from a rest with any...

    Want New 9mm, SW99 or Glock 19?

"I'd go for a P99 before I'd take a SW99 unless the QC has gotten much better." Wow, ironically I was just posting an opposite sentiment on another thread. It's amazing how people's experiences can vary. So what happened with your SW99? Did you send it back? I hope they fixed it for you...

    Where HAS S&W QC gone?

The SW99 9mm I got this year is hands down an excellent firearms, with fantastic finish, fit, and machining. It even has smooth edges on the insides where gun writers tell us it "doesn't matter". I guess it still signifies "quality" to me. Anyway, after some extensive shooting, it's even...

    Really Want a New 9mm....XD-9, SW99, or Sig 225

There seems to be a loathe-fest on THR for the SW99, for reasons I've never quite understood. It’s almost as if people hate it not for what it is but more for what it isn’t, which is a Walther, Glock, or an SA-only auto. In talking to someone whose department used the SW99’s and who...

Is Ruger Serious About the Revolver Biz?

Looks like I'm not the only one who wonders why Ruger shys away from attracting new markets. I literally pass them over because they just plain don't offer a version of what the other 2 makers offer. How about a medium-frame DA sixgun offering, like the Security Six? Some of us are...

    Who Makes 9mm Conversion Cylinders?

Hey Old Fuff, I have a Hornady Lock-N-Load progressive, it's just that I hate using it unless it's absolutely necessary, like for magnum pistol calibers and 7mm Mag. I don't really reload 9mm anymore, preferring to just buy it. I think you are right though, I'm just going to have to buckle...

    Who Makes 9mm Conversion Cylinders?

Thanks Big Daddy, I may take you up on that. Dave Clements says that it would require a new cylinder with a minimum cost of $700. Bummer, looks like I'm out of ideas.

    Who Makes 9mm Conversion Cylinders?

Thanks Tom, I e-mailed Clements, we'll see what he says.

    Who Makes 9mm Conversion Cylinders?

OK, I did some more research. Here are some interesting findings ... I found no one (except the Medusa people) offering any kind of 9mm cylinder or conversion. Yes, there is a bore diameter discrepancy, but the Ruger Blackhawk 9mm conversions work adequately with the larger .357 bore...

    Who Makes 9mm Conversion Cylinders?

Unfortunately, the TK Custom guy doesn't seem to be doing the 9x23 conversion any more. As for the Blackhawk, I haven't found a used one around here, but if I do I'll pick it up. I'll still eventually want double action though.

    Who Makes 9mm Conversion Cylinders?

In reading the thread about the Medusa revolver, I became curious - are there any OTHER outfits who could take a Ruger GP100 cylinder or Smith M10 cylinder and convert them to 9mm, or perhaps even construct a new cylinder in 9mm? I'm going crazy trying to find an affordable D.A. 9mm wheelgun...

    Which .41? Tracker Vs. Blackhawk

Thanks a bunch, guys. Sounds like the .41 Blackhawk is the better choice (at least I'm not hearing anyone brag about their Tracker much). Majic, I chose these guns because they ARE somewhat smaller than .44 Mag. Super Blackhawk and N-frame S&W's, so there is a platform difference.

    Which .41? Tracker Vs. Blackhawk

Thanks so much guys. Sounds like you're confirming my suspicions. TC300, my experience mirrors yours. I just remembered looking at a couple Taurus revolvers a month or so ago - one was perfect, the other had a cylinder that would spin freely in the frame. Ala Dan, good to hear from you...

    Which .41? Tracker Vs. Blackhawk

i’ve been thinking about a .41 Magnum as a general purpose revolver for quite some time now - one that would be accurate and durable enough to shoot a lot. I’d like to carry it deer hunting, but also maybe even just around the farm or for occasional concealed carry. For reasons I won’t...

    Firestorm Mini

Do a search and you'll find my experiences with this gun. I really, really wanted mine to work, as it's a great design, but have to give it a thumbs-down.
