    Help me ? 1941 ?

It's a Finn-captured 91 - the Finn VKT barrel and the SA stamp give it away. Worth a bit more than $100 if it was in original condition. Unfortunately, your stock has been chopped. The rear sight is from the earlier 91 model, not the 91/30. BTW, 1941 is the barrel date, not the rifle...

Free Gun For Car Buyers In Missouri

Nothing new - back in the 1980s a dealer in the St. Louis area was giving away Winchester shotguns if you bought a car...:)

St. Louis Mayor and Police Officers Shot 2/7

Reports state he came armed with a large caliber revolver; after killing the first officer, he took his sidearm and proceeded to the council chambers.

    Getting LASIK

So...what's Lasik typically cost these days, preferably not by one of these "fly-by-night" operations? The eyeglass solution is getting old, and I noticed my new insurance offers Lasik discounts this year...

Ammo for guns you don't own

Several years ago a dealer friend of mine retired from the business and gave me a large box full of misc. loose rounds. Strangest of the bunch and for a gun I'll probably never own - blanks (or some say harpoon firing rounds) for a 10.15x61R Jarmann rifle. Also got some .22-250, .38-55, US...

Open Bolt SINGLE SHOT rifles legal?

Winchester had a Model 55 .22 rifle that was single shot, firing from an open bolt. Load from the top, eject from the bottom. Not entirely sure if it had a fixed firing pin, but it's non-NFA.

NRA Has Decided On St Louis for 2007

Correct, but all it takes is a C&R FFL to permit a MO resident to own Title II items (both C&R & modern), so you can't really say they're banned here - just one extra hoop to jump through. Anyway, I'm surprised St. Louis City would welcome the NRA's business, and I'm surprised the NRA would...

NRA Has Decided On St Louis for 2007

Title II firearms aren't banned in MO - just ask John Ross. OTOH, suppressors are. What I find odd is St. Louis City (as opposed to St. Louis County) hasn't allowed a gun show in years...

    Shipping guns

And a follow-up to your reply... :) The shipper can't put anything on the package that would identify it as a firearm: No common or contract carrier shall require or cause any label, tag, or other written notice to be placed on the outside of any package, luggage, or other container...

    T/C Centender in the movies?

The thread on the possible Miami Vice "flub" got me thinking. Several years ago I saw a movie on TV where one of the investigators carried a Thompson/Center Contender. For the life of me, I can't remember what it was. Can anyone help? It looked like an early-mid 1970s flick, possibly made...

    Shipping guns

Going back to the first question, the UPS hub near me has 100% package inspections - you're supposed to bring in your shipments unsealed for them to inspect your packaging. So, it's kinda impossible to not tell them you're shipping a firearm.... And there is something in the ATF regs that...

Is it legal to give a person a pistol?

Beats me - I was just pointing out the statute. IMHO, I think a lot of Missourians are unaware that a permit is needed for private transfers.

Is it legal to give a person a pistol?

Yes, he would have to get a permit, unless it's an antique or C&R. Check MO statute 571.080. Without a permit, you both could be charged with a misdemeanor. from http://www.moga.missouri.gov/statutes/C500-599/5710000080.HTM: Transfer of concealable firearms without permit...
