Today, $400 is considered cheap for 'em.

$400.00? That's what I paid for my Model M. The last two Chinese SKS's cost me $150.00 each, last year. Admittedly, one was in a folding plastic stock and the other needed a magazine... .

For those of us who live in an open carry state

In any urban situation, I see no reason that anyone should know whether or not I am armed... .

Our Founding Fathers' perspective on citizens and guns.

I taught social studies for a short time. The above quotes were never found in the classroom. They should have been. My comments on this lack are probably why I never got my certification... .

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Repro gun cases for my 1903, 1903a3 and Garand. Also a repro WW1 trench whistle.

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

A six-liter ultrasonic cleaner and two gallons of cleaner fluid for some of my more derelict projects... .

Bayonet on rifle? Yes or No?

I probably have more bayonets than milsurp rifles - they are often found in parts lots bought in bulk. I like them as a back-up, in theory: I might run out of ammo but I've never run out of bayonet. Anyway, some of my bayonets are worth much more than the guns that are supposed to bear them... .

    Ruger mk2 vs mk4?

I've never seen any reason to move on from the Standard Target... .

What is the last gun that you bought?

Went to a gun show. Had a nice walk, met some interesting people. Picked up a well-worn Savage 99 in .303 Savage with a half-octagonal barrel and a box of soft-point ammo for $300.

    so called cowboy "assault rifles"

My old Marlin Model 1894SS in .44 Magnum and topped with a red dot isn't particularly ugly and I think that it will do the job. I often carry it when I'm also carrying my old SBH, also in .44 mag... .

Yesterday in the barn, AKA: melting stuff is fun!

I've got about 80 pounds of wheel weight ingots, about 50 pounds of wheel weights, about 40 pounds of pure sewer pipe joint lead ingots and about 30 pounds of recovered bullets. I'm almost ready to pull out my pair of Lee bottom pour pots and variety of ingot molds (and some of my lead soldier...

    Actual Self Defense Knife Use

Closest that I came was outside the Apache's Tacqueria in Huntington Park, California, back when I was a teen. A couple of guys started harassing my mother. I pulled out my ridiculously dull Italian folding bayonet, flipped it open and started pretending to clean my nails. They found something...

    Let's go magnet fishing!

I love magnet fishing - even at the range. It lets you find those lost small parts and clears away that litter of steel hulls so that you can find all of that range brass. -And, yes, I've found a few guns and several gun relics that way... .

Welp, I bought a stripped lower

Remember: on the range or in the shop, whenever small steel parts are involved, keep a strong drag magnet handy. I saves your springs, pins and sanity... .

Good box for shipping a 1903 Springfield?

I've always made my own, recently from large screen TV boxes.
