    BFR Unhappiness

Do you have a set of pin gauges to measure the throats of the cylinder? Bullets ought to be sized so that they pass through the throats with some resistence. You might also find that you have different sized throats, in which case you would need to have them reamed out to match.

.38 Special in 4” Service Guns?

Not an LEO. But is it a fixed sight revolver? Fixed sight revolvers, as I understand, are calibrated for the stanard 158 grn bullet. and that is what I would use. I cast and reload, so my 38s pack a 158 grn rnfp or 160 grains DEWC running at +P levels.

    Ammo? Maybe I’m wrong.

Information like this reminds me why I like my .38/.357 snubbies. I do not own a semi, but often think about rectifying that. As of yet, though, I have not done so. The one reason I might move to a semi is the increasingly worrisome social disintegration we experience today. So a full size...

    My 1st time shooting .357

I reload .357. One of my favorite and most accurate loads is a 200 gr Lyman RN running 1050-1100fps from a Ruger Blackhawk. But full house loads of 158 or 125 gr are not unpleasant in that gun. On the other hand, full house loads shot from an SP101 or Charter Mag Pug make me flinch just thinking...

    Ruger LCR .327

Whelp, the .32 is not selling like hotcakes here. It is still in the case. The 3" LCRx is still available, too. The price is 500, and the .32 is 25 or 30 bucks more. Are these fair prices?

Beretta BDA, 84, and CZ 83

I handled the BDAs and 84 today. The BDAs are blued with black grips. The 84 is blued with black grips. They all felt good in the hand. The decockers were stiff and my hands are not that big so operating those mechanisms seemed awkward. Too, I am a revolver guy, own no semis, so I am not real...

Beretta BDA, 84, and CZ 83

Thanks for the replies. I have noted that the BDA was taken out of production in 1997. Should this be a concern regarding replacement parts or are things like mags and such readily available?

    Ruger LCR .327

Thanks for the replies. I am "kicking tires" at this point. I reload .38/.357 and so the 3" .38 has greater appeal. I have gotten used to the recoil of the .38, so it is not an issue. I shoot a variety of loads from mine, my favorites being a 200 gr lyman 358430 RN, and a 160 gr lyman 358432 WC.

I did not see one, but I never handled it.

    Ruger LCR .327

Saw a used one FS at Cabela's this a.m. sitting alongside a used LCRx in .38+p. I have an LCR .38 and love it, and the LCRx is attractive, but I would like to hear from those who have experience with the .327. Do you like the gun in that caliber?

Beretta BDA, 84, and CZ 83

I was snooping around the local Cabela's and the used gun counter held guns listed in the subj line. I am considering purchasing a .380, I am not interested in a micro, so these appeal to me. Can you tell me the differences between the 2 Beretta's? For those who have had experience with any or...

    Single Action .38 Special?

I agree. I mostly lurk and THR is about the only forum I peruse with any regularity, especially the revolver and reloading forum.

    Single Action .38 Special?

I have made a deliberate attempt to limit calibers. I reload 3, .44 spcl, .38 spcl, .357 mag. I originally thought to stick with the .36 caliber guns because I like them and believe they meet my shooting needs. The .44 was bought because I had to see for myself why others like the ctg. I have 2...

I'd never heard of this. Something new to look into. Thanks.

    Single Action .38 Special?

We are looking at the Uberti and the Cimarron Lightening. The Single Six in .32 H&R is not off the table. I do reload, but am simply hesitant to acquire the dies and moulds and add another caliber to the reloading bench.
