Agreed, although I find the first "U" in their name to be a bit ironic. AFAIK, it's supposed to mean "universal," which makes me ask why they make the different sizes and the single-stack adapter. Just nitpicking, though. They're sturdy, and they work.
Sorry, maybe I'm not understanding something. Your FFL wants to do a background check to give your gun back to you? That makes no sense.
I have no experience with EAA warranty service, but SIG and Ruger have both sent me shipping labels and had FedEx pick up the gun from my house and return it...
Why not? Even where baiting is illegal, you could hang it high enough that the deer couldn't reach it. Use suet or something that won't fall to the ground.
Back in the '80s, a wild-and-crazy friend of mine was windsurfing in the Hudson River off Manhattan, and he pulled up alongside the USS Intrepid just to check it out. The ship is decommissioned and functions as a museum, but the security guards were not amused. He was detained and had to do some...
I'm guessing they bought the Glock for reliability rather than for a sweet trigger. Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but I think of fun and competition as two different things.
That's pretty much it right there. IMO, you don't buy a Glock to have fun at the range. It's a combat gun. If you ever really need to use it for what you bought it for, the trigger pull will be the last thing on your mind.
That statement is true, but OTOH, I bought a CZ rifle from Whittaker's without ever setting foot in the state of Kentucky. Most local operations are also selling online these days. Whether they can keep up with the big boys (Bud's, etc.) is another question.
Makes sense to me. The Makarov round is only marginally bigger than .380 ACP, but 12+1 in a pistol that is easy to shoot accurately beats 6+1 in a pocket mini.
There are those of the anti-gun persuasion that are cheering this as a death blow to the NRA, not realizing that the judgement requires LaPierre to repay the organization for money he was judged to have used improperly.
I shoot a lot of .22, and IMO it is more reliable than its reputation. I shoot a couple of hundred rounds a week in practice and competition, and I can't remember when I last had a misfire. I'm not using the cheapest ammo, but I'm not using the most expensive either.
That's what you mostly find at my club too. I shoot in a .22 rifle league, and if I drop a round on the floor during a match, it goes in the bucket. Most .22 target ammo is heavily lubed and will easily pick up a lot of grit from the floor. I'm not putting that crap in one of my better rifles...
NY State did a handy one-two punch to prospective pistol permit holders by (a) requiring 18 hours of pre-certification training and (b) refusing to recognize NRA training credentials for the instructors. As far as I can tell now, only former or current LE are allowed to give the training...
