SW686-1 by Tony617 posted Dec 14, 2019 at 1:00 PMHere is one that I bought over 30 years ago and I did not save the box. I believe I bought it back in 1987.
a) .357 magnum
b) 6" barrel
c) square
d) 6 shot
e) Fix front adjustable rear sight for windage
f) AVV44XX (This number is taken from the...
I under load my shotguns by one shot shell round and I haven't had to replace the magazine springs yet. I did buy some replacement magazine springs just in case but so far they cycle the shot shells fine.
Since low recoil buckshot does not reliably cycle the SLP action. I have tried LE132 both 9 pellet 00 buckshot and LE132 15 pellet #1 buckshot and it is a crap shoot.
Sometime it cycles reliably and I can shoot the entire magazine some times I need to eject the spent shot shell manually. Going...
I have an 18" SLP and fired almost 1100 rounds out of it. I only shoot 9 pellet 00 buckshot or slugs with a velocity of 1325 FPS or greater. I have light and side saddle as well.
Brenneke makes 3" Black Magic slugs that can be fired from a smooth bore shotgun for bears. But for HD I use 9 pellet 00 buckshot. I also have some Winchester PDX1 tri segment slugs, but for HD distances 00 or #1 buckshot is fine.
I bought a FNH 18" SLP several years ago. The SLP is my go to shotgun and have loaded with XM127 9 pellet 00 buckshot. I bought a tri-rail extension for my SLP so have a TLR-1s light on it
I also have a Mossberg 590A1 with a light and buttstock side saddle. I take both shotguns to the range and...
I believe a shotgun is a short range long gun and so I put the targets out at 5, 7, and 10 yards and use 9 pellet 00 buckshot. I use either Federal or Remington 9 pellet 00 buckshot. I have used Hornady Versatite wad which works fine as well.
I use LE132 9 pellet 00 buckshot in my 590A1. I also having Remington 9 pellet 00 buckshot as well. I tend to use Federal or Remington 00 buckshot since the Rio 00 buckshot has a plastic cap on the crimp so I can only put 7 in the magazine. Federal or Remington 2 3/4" shells I can load 8...
I typically use 124gr standard pressure Speer Gold Dots or Federal HST but I would feel comfortable with other brand as well and have tried the following rounds:
Speer Gold Dot 124gr
Speer Gold Dot +P 124gr
Federal 124gr HST
Winchester Ranger-T +P 124gr
Remington Golden Saber +P 124gr bonded...
SGAmmo.com is selling Z RA9SXT and I have ordered some. The rounds were made back in 2013-2014 for a government contract.

I ordered a couple of 50 round boxes of 9mm +P critical duty from SGAmmo.com. But my part number is #90225. Is the part number different for a box of 25 rounds compared to a 50 round box? Also, doesn't SGAmmo.com only sell 50 round boxes?
Yes Brenneke KO and Black Magic slugs work fine in my all of my shotguns and they are worth the price. I also have some THD slugs as well which cycle fine in pump shotgun but not in my semi-auto shotgun.
I have an 18" SLP and I really like shooting it. I have put on the tactical rail and have a TLR-1s light on it and I have also added a Mesa Tactical 6 round side saddle.
I only shoot full power 9'pellet 00 buckshot and slugs. Full power is 1325FPS or faster. It also has a few chokes and the...
I have fired 3" Brenneke Black Magic slugs from an 18" SLP and a 18.5" Mossberg 590A1. The SLP is a gas driven gun so the recoil is manageable and I was center mass on the target.
My 590A1 has a simple bead sight but I was hitting center mass as well. I have a LimbSaver recoil pad on my 590A1...
