    Changing Barrels on an AR

If you're having trouble extracting live rounds, it could be your ammo. Have you tried screwing in your sizing die a bit more? Or check the external dimensions of a loaded round and make sure they're in spec. As for the signs of over pressure, what velocities are you getting? Published data...

    .22 LR long-ish (long-er) range

Man, it seems that these days threads about shooting long range. 22lr attracts a bunch of attention. Shoot 22 to longer ranges sure is fun. I do it because I don't play golf. Ammo is a very important factor when it comes to .22, especially when you're trying to reach out. I'm a big fan of CCI...

    Light mini-ACOG mount options?

Trijicon has a cantilever mount intended for use with a VCOG. It's pretty light and when run backwards, it gets the ocular pretty far back. I've been running one on my TA31 and it's been nice.

    Rear bag suggestions?

Assuming that you aren't talking about something for bench rest use, I use two. I have a heavy shmedium gamechanger for when I won't be carrying it around and a lite filled pint sized game changer for when I will be carrying it. They work very well and have been way better than anything else...

Did I steer him right? .300 Blackout Question

If quiet is what you want, 300BO with subs and a suppressor is certainly pretty quiet. I wouldn't say that you pointed him in the wrong direction. Whisper and BO are essentially the same thing. Stick with BO, if for no other reason than availability of ammo.

Recent new production Ruger SFARs- opinions?

I've shot a couple of the newer ones and from what I've seen, they can be reliable with the right ammunition. The research I've done has led me to believe that most of the troubles are due to the limited adjustability of the gas system. My research has also led me to believe that reliability can...

Medium power variable optic for RECCE style rifle.

I haven't seen or used it yet, but I understand that Delta now has a 1-10x lpvo out with an adjustable parallax. It's worth checking out.

Lengthening stock of 30 M1 Carbine

Not all Limbsaverd are grind to fit. If you do some research, you may find a model that will fit. Is your not wanting a grind to fit more about appearances or your just not wanting to do it? If you are more concerned about function than you are about form, you should be able to rig something...

    Rebarreling a Remington 700

Just throwing this out there, I had a couple of 700 actions rebarreled by Don Geraci out of Independence LA. You can find his contact info via Google. Both rifles did enough “0” groups to tell me that a miss was my fault.

    Red dot or irons

I run red dots on general purpose handguns. The advantages of a red dot become more and more apparent as distance increases, but at close, point and shoot distances, I find no advantage to using a dot. Out to about 5 yards, it doesn't matter. At 7 yards or so is when I start to see a difference...

    Lpvo optics.

Does that mean you're looking for one with a straight up mil or moa reticle or one with a simple cross hair? Their are very few situations where a BDC reticle will perfectly line up. Most adapt the reticle to their rig. Anyway, two that come to mind are the Delta Stryker SFP and the Trijicon...

    Glock night sights poll

I used to be a big fan of night sights, but these days, not so much. If there isn't enough light to see your sights, odds are that you can't see your target. If you can see your target, you should be able to see your sights. Honestly, for what nights sights cost, you're better off investing in a...

    Romeo 5

The Romeo 5 has a 2 MOA dot. Whether that is too small is a subjective thing. You can make the dot seem bigger by turning up the brightness causing the dot to bloom, but then, you are no longer looking at a dot. If you want a larger, cleaner dot, you're going to have to go with something that...
