What is your favorite folder you own?

Currently liking my Spyderco Dragonfly II, but had to regrind the edge after the tip chipped: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=633 ZDP-189 does seem to hold an edge, though, other than that. But my all-time fave is my Gerber EZ-Out Skeleton. 15 years, and just now...

    New Flattop .357/9mm Blackhawks

Dang it, that's exactly what I've been wanting for about 2 years now. Hmmm...how many of my current guns could I sell to buy one of these...

    High Standard .22

There's a good High Standard board over at Rimfirecentral.com, lots of very knowledgeable people! Looks to me like a slant grip Supermatic Citation or Trophy, that's been hard chromed. Barrel is definitely either aftermarket, or heavily modified. Grips are also not factory, and there was...

Pros and cons of various Warsaw Pact 9x18mm pistols

I've got a FEG PA-63: Pros light weight thin accurate "point-a-bility" inexpensive decent power level for SD (in 9x18) Cons DA trigger pull (esp. without Wolff springs!) can't take "heavy" 9x18 ammo good luck finding magazines (and if you do, pay out the nose!) mag capacity and power compared...

    Hi-Tek bullet coating?

Just bought a box from MBC. Gotta say, cleanup is a lot easier!! Worth a few extra $'s to me for that.

Reduced cast rifle load w lil'gun?

Well, I can use it for my .357 lever action if nothing else.

Reduced cast rifle load w lil'gun?

Given the fun of trying to find ANY kind of pistol powder, when I saw a bunch of jugs of Lil'Gun at my local Bass Pro, I decided to pick some up. Figure I could reload .357 if nothing else! I've been using Bullseye and cast .30-30 boolits in my K31 for short range, low-recoil plinking (a la...

    Ballester Molina magazine play

Happens with the original mag, but I also bought a Wilson Combat 7-round, seems to happen just as much if not more with that one.

    Ballester Molina magazine play

I've noticed that I seem to have a lot of vertical play in the magazine of my Ballester, that occasionally causes a nose-dive jam. How much vertical motion is "within spec" for a 1911-type pistol? If my magazine catch is worn, is there a way to shim either it or the magazine to compensate...

.357 Magnum self defence ammo - unfullfilled potential?

That's just the thing though. That load is rated at .38 +P! Now, I'm sure it's on the bleeding edge of that designation, but the fact is that if you believe that they use real test guns like they claim (and I tend to), that load, and the SWC Outdoorsman load both perform like .38/44 or low...

.357 Magnum self defence ammo - unfullfilled potential?

Ahhh...did you happen to look at their test guns? S&W mod. 60, 2 inch- 1040 fps (379 ft. lbs.) S&W mod. 66, 2.5 inch- 1059 fps (393 ft. lbs.) Ruger SP101, 3 inch- 1143 fps (458 ft. lbs.) S&W Mt. Gun, 4 inch- 1162 fps (474 ft. lbs.) Again, seems to be pretty much what you're...

.357 Magnum self defence ammo - unfullfilled potential?

Since my only .357 revolver at the moment is a K-frame, I'm definitely interested in heavier bullets vs. the 125gr. variety. The risk of cracking a forcing cone may be over or under stated, but I just don't want to risk it. And I certainly don't need all that blast! I also think that heavy...

Hammer fired options-Sig 2022 and others

New, used, or don't care either way? Can't go wrong with CZ, as many have said. Also, the old Ruger P-series is good if you've got big hands. S&W 3rd gen semi-autos are also nice, just not my cup of tea. Daewoo DP51 is a pretty cool pistol too, as is it's modern equivalent, the Lionheart LH9.

help me decide on a budget 9mm

I would think anything in the Ruger P-series (85, 89, 94, etc.) would be a good buy, as would a S&W 3rd-gen, and also the Daewoo DP51. Can you tell I prefer metal and hammers to polymer and strikers?
