The great thing about building a custom, you can always change it to whatever you want with just a barrel and bolt head change.
I've got 4 LH customs, plus a slew of LH Savage action builds.
Oh they are! While I've had several for decades, I'm up to 7 of them now. Two rimfire, Two for my 40 cal PC carbine's, and Three 30 cal suppressor's that I use on everything from 223 to 300 WM.
There are plenty of good factory rifle's on the market to choose from, take your pick. There are some great deals on some closeout scopes going on. I just picked up a Burris XTR II 5-25x50 for $569, They also have the 3-15x50 version on sale for $499...
If you're wanting to use those rings, just buy a 1/2" riser to attach to the top of the upper. I run them on all of my AR's, as I hate the 1pc scope mounts on the market. They raise the scope up too high for my taste.

A Center feed action should work, but a Staggered feed will probably need some machining done on the bottom of the action to work with AICS style magazines.
I have a Whiskey 3 chassis on one of my long range rifle's. While it is a great chassis, I still prefer using something that is more traditional. I have two KRG Bravo chassis, and a Woox Exactus chassis that I enjoy shooting more.
If you're wanting a nice walnut stocked production 22lr made today, look no further than the CZ 457. While not made in the USA, it's probably the best made and shooting 22 lr that you'll find under $1k. Plus, there's plenty of aftermarket support for them if you want to change them.
Varminterror, I've been very happy with Rock Creek cut rifling barrel's. Got one from BugHoles, and the other from PVA, both shoot very good. I have Bartlein, Krieger, and other top brands of barrel's on gun's, They really don't shoot any better!
Everyone has their favorite brand, I've tried...
I've got 4 custom action's that take pre-fit barrel's. A Shilen DGR, and 3 American Rifle Co. - Nucleus, Nucleus 2.0, & an Archimedes. I run barrel nut's on 3 of them, and have one shouldered pre-fit barrel on another. Accuracy difference is zero between them, it's only cosmetic different with a...
