Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

Hi Outlaw75. "CFU" is not specifically listed. However, "CFT; CFW" is listed as "April 2003." I assume this denotes the range in which your gun would be included. edited to note that the above information is from the 3rd edition of the Supica and Nahas book.

Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

Hi gasmandave...my resource is the 2016 4th edition of the Supica and Nahas Standard S&W book. Unfortunately the serial number records for the .38 Hand Ejector M&P of 1905 4th Change are quite vague. To quote that model description "Serial number range 241704 - 1000000 with 758,296...

Transformation of my great uncle's 1968 Remington 760 - Before and After

Very nice! I very recently bought a model 760 and decided to go with a an "old school" peep setup. I don't have pics yet. Small world...I sighted in a model 742 I inherited from grandfather from the very same bench. I assume that's the range within a mile or two of Fish Springs...Looks like...

How to question re: peep sight

Again, thanks for the information. Thanks Vern and Mike in Peru for the setup techniques. I was not entirely clear in my original post but I think, despite that, you guys have answered my questions and helped me formulate a plan. I enjoy archery and using an aperture (thanks fmj50 for...

How to question re: peep sight

Here comes a dumb question....maybe. What is the "proper" or common use of a peep sight on a rifle? I'm thinking about adding a Williams peep sight to a Remington Model 760. The rifle currently has the front ramp with post installed and a U-notch blade installed above the hand guard. The...

question about some powder I received...already opened?

jnay...the back of my jug has CE0519 at the bottom left in a white box and 622 2 021313 printed to the right in white letters across the black label background. Thanks for your response. And welcome to a really good forum. There are a lot of knowledgable and "willing to help" folks on this...

question about some powder I received...already opened?

Thanks for all of the feedback, it is appreciated. I had every intention of revisiting this thread sooner...I have been busy with work. I think I need to clarify and I should have been more clear in my original post. The container has a twist off cap attached to a ring that "seals" the jug...

question about some powder I received...already opened?

I recently received a backordered 8 pound jug of Unique from PV. The jug arrived with the seal broken...at least it appeared broken. I have never bought an 8 pound jug before. Should I be concerned if the seal was not intact? I'm familiar with the 1 pound and 4 pound containers. The 8...

    Model 27-2 price check

The 5" presentation case adds $100+ to the deal in my opinion. I would pay $800 for the gun you describe... I really appreciate 5" 27's though.

Has anyone had to deal with Montana Gold Bullets customer service?

The tone of those emails you received speaks volumes to me. Thank you for sharing your experience with MGB. I don't blame you one bit for being disappointed in their customer service...or complete lack thereof.
