Disappointed in my purchase of receivers 'on sale'.....

That is not a Blem. That's made in China S***. A blem is a cosmetic defect and not a manufacturing error. If your CNC machine makes an error, the product goes to be recycled and not in stores at a discount. Both companies should be ashamed of themselves

Almost completed AR10 Build - reccomendations on a few more parts

Mega Arms has 308 barrel for a street price of $310. SLR rifle works has some nice Keymod rails over 12 inches

Almost completed AR10 Build - reccomendations on a few more parts

Yes, gas tube and block are the same as AR-15 and you should figure out your barrel first. What is your price range for the barrel and handguard. The fulton Armory barrel is a good choice. I like 18 inch barrels on my 308s, I like to hide the gas block under the handguard, most 308 handguards...

    300 Blackout upper for AR15

You are correct. As long as the shorter barrels have "permanently attached" muzzle devices that equal to 16 inchs. Usually pined and welded on. Just like you can own a standard magazine body, as long as it is "permanently block" at 10 rounds. It considered a 10 round mag. The over all barrel...

    300 Blackout upper for AR15

I hope not because I have two 14.5 inch barrel rifles (w/pinned brakes) in the state right now. Unless the law changed last year and I didn't know about it. The pining work was done in state by a reputable smith. And the definition of a SBR is Federal and not State. But I'm sure a state like CA...

About to buy a Rem 700 SPS AAC SD, what should I know?

That is a good rifle! Yes, it needs a different stock. I feel that it's a good "walking around" rifle. That said, I just sold mine. The reason I sold was because, after all the needed upgrades, (stock included) price is close to a "semi-custom" rifle. There is a good Youtube video from Stiller...

    Small base dies

Then, I would also have to agree with the steel case theory. I have stayed away from anything other then brass for reloading, even tho the silver brass is easier to spot and pick-up. Since brass does cool down faster then steel. The steel cases may be "expanded" longer and thus harder to...

    Small base dies

Small base dies only help will chambering not extraction. You may be under gased, worn spring or extractor.

    Small base dies

I use the small base dies for my auto loading .308. Which is the only situation one may need a SBD. You will not need it for any .223 firearm. I have the RCBS set in .308 and the Lee set in .223. The Lee seating die with the factory crimp die is better. The RCBS seating die with taper crimp is a...

    AR Compensators---

Comps will help with rise, brakes will help with recoil. Check out the comps at JP rifles. On a carbine a large brake will look awkward, but the larger the more effective. A good brake will help, but the proper stance will help a lot more then a brake. I guess the LaVang would be the best brake...

    CZ75 SP01 vs Beretta M9A1

Art, I thought you said " if you could only have one". Because I would have said that life is not complete without both. In the CZ's I think that the "creep" gives more of a "surprise" when the hammer drops. thus helping with accuracy. But I see why some would like to reduce/eliminate it.

Impressions needed on Sig Saur C3 1911 in .45 ACP

Lol!!! I think a lot of 1911 guys will agree with me... But Sig making a 1911 is like BMW making a pick-up truck. There is a reason why they don't. "It's like Japaneses Jazz". They understand the technical but they don't understand the soul. They understand "tight" tolerances, but they don't...

    CZ75 SP01 vs Beretta M9A1

The CZ is better out of the box shooting. I'm a average built guy and it feels better in my hand. Even better the my Kimber 1911. I "point" it better and my grip is higher on the frame. The high beaver tail must be worth $100 extra. In fact I no longer buy handguns unless they have a high beaver...

    "AR-308" (AR-10 clone) lower receivers?

Yes. DPMS, POF, and Mega are SR-25 type rifles/platforms. The platform was adopted by the Armed Forces 3 years ago, which is why you are beginning to see an increase of parts coming out. IMHO, Armalite has fallen behind. The POF(Upper) is piston driven, fluted barrel, and has a very unique look...

    "AR-308" (AR-10 clone) lower receivers?

I own a Mega and POF. 100% happy. Maybe a DPMS in the future. but match the upper with the lower or else the lines may not match up. The POF complete is almost the same price as building it yourself, so take that into consideration. The Armalites are over rated, IMHO. parts are easier to find...
