Are there any competitions or sanctioned leagues for rifle shooters?

Well, actually i know there are such leagues or competitions. So lemme rephrase: what are some of the competition/sanctioned leagues for AR shooters?? I was thinking about joining USPSA and I know USPSA has rifle and shotgun divisions, but here in Kansas City, rifle and shotgun competitions only...

My First and New Sig... P226

Very good choice my friend. SIGS are great guns as I myself have 2 (latest edition P226 Blackwater Tactical and a P226 X-Five Comp). Their customer service is beyond satisfactory. Rest assured that that gun can, when the time comes, be handed to your kids and still be at great working condition.

Any reason to choose STI/SVI over common 1911s in USPSA??

Wow.... I think I really will look into an STI. I wish you lived around here too so I can test it out. Normally when I ask about brands like when I made a thread back then about Para's 1911s, it was half-n-half about Para Ordnance being bad quality and the other half saying they're good...

Any reason to choose STI/SVI over common 1911s in USPSA??

Your .02 is nice, thank you. It's unbiased and not too opinionated. But doesn't Rob Leatham shoot a Springfield 1911? What about Todd Jarrett and his Para 1911's?

Any reason to choose STI/SVI over common 1911s in USPSA??

However is a $1200 Trojan that much better than a $700 Kimber Custom II--not TLE or RL/TLE, or any upper end kimbers.

Any reason to choose STI/SVI over common 1911s in USPSA??

Yea but for the extra money, is it necessary? Really? there is a trigger difference? Regardless, even if the trigger is better, is that all, just a trigger feel difference for that much extra??

Any reason to choose STI/SVI over common 1911s in USPSA??

Hello thr, well as the title implies: Is there any reason to choose a STI/SVI 1911 over a common 1911 from like Kimber, SA, Para, etc... for USPSA/IDPA use?? (USPSA - single stack division and/or Limited 10 division.) Keep in mind that I'm not talking about STI/SVI hi-cap models, or the 2011...

    Does anyone like Para Ordnance??

BTW, thanks for the input on all this as I am seriously considering a hi-cap 1911 for USPSA Limited division and IDPA.

    Does anyone like Para Ordnance??

I just took a close scrutiny of Springfield Armory's GI hi cap, and it looks exactly like Para's hi-cap models. The wide body of the SA's GI design looks exactly the same and that it's wider on the sides of the grip. Are you saying that hi-cap 1911s are more noticeably longer from the front...

    Does anyone like Para Ordnance??

Hey, so how is the grip on Para's hi-cap models? Full metal jacket says that it's the same frame used on 9mm, .40, and .45 for their hi-cap models, so, how is it's grip compared to standard 1911? How much wider is it?? What about the grip on SA's GI .45 high capacity model?

    Does anyone like Para Ordnance??

Since Para's hi-cap 1911s don't use the standard frame design, would you say that the P18-9 is smaller in grip compared to the P14? Is the P18 even going to be bigger in the grip than a standard 1911??

    Does anyone like Para Ordnance??

Sigh... there are more bad reports than there are good. I looked it up, apparently Para Ordnance has a lifetime warranty for the original owner: http://www.paraord.com/new/service_lifetime.php Notice how it says "Gold Medallion Lifetime Service"! Would you guys say that the finish and the...

    Does anyone like Para Ordnance??

Wow this is starting to sound bad. 1911s are said to outlast the shooter, but if the manufacturer has bad cust service then that 'guarantee' that the pistol will last is sort of... gone. I was thinking about getting a High Cap P18 9 from Para. Not a lot of High Cap 1911 manufacturers. What...
