When I spend time at the range, I end up shooting my Swede's more than any other rifle I own. They are my favorite with the Swiss rifles coming in at #2. Their accuracy makes me look good!

A Russian Vepr in .223 would be an excellent choice. Or a milled receiver Arsenal SAM5 in .223. These are very high quality but may be hard to find but they're out there. High reliability with the AK platform!

I own 2. They start to grow on you, especially after some trigger time. They are the easiest shooting semi-auto .308 rifle I've ever shot (I've shot them all).

They are the top 2 cartridges avail. IMHO. 6.5 has the edge I believe. My advice is to get them both!

Norinco makes great M1A's. I have several Springfields but prefer my Norinco (w/Smith upgrade). It's the best value out there with rifles selling in the $600-800 range.

Buy a Fulton if you want a current manuf. Or, find a old Polytech or Norinco. Thyey are cheap, great rifles with forged receivers. Be sure and check headspacing. I had Smith do their Chinese upgrade, added a TRW bolt and proper heat treating to my Norinco. It's the gun that Springfield should...
