Working Guns for Homesteading/rural/off grid lifestyle?

If I can take my Jeep, then Winchester 94, Mossberg 500, GP100; if I have to hump the load CZ452 and Heritage Rough Rider for comparative volume of ammunition you can carry. Also, this scenario requires sharpening your most important weapon -- your mind.

Do you think the average gangbanger practices shooting?

"I was in a gun store once where a gangbanger-looking dude (must have been just starting his career with a clean record) and the sales guys asked him what kind of gun he wanted -- type, caliber, etc. -- and his response was "something cheap." That was it! " Based on my own economic history...

    Angelina Jolie on Guns

This is a part of an interview she did in Britain. Just FYI. "If anybody comes into my home and tries to hurt my kids, I've no problem shooting them." That's Angelina Jolie, revealing her up-with-the-Second-Amendment maternal instincts to Britain's Mail on Sunday. And, as an added...

    38 special vs. 44 special

I voted for .44 special; have a Charter 2000 Pug but generally carry a S&W 637 for ease of carry

open carry in VA - FOX news video coverage

My permit from York County, VA says to carry a concealed handgun. By the way, they are of the flimsiest card stock and also require a picture ID to be carried with them. FL's permit, on the other hand, looks like a driver's license.

Portability and Reliability versus Spray and Pray

This was all very pleasant. I assume that there are a more than a few people in this forum (and the TFL before) with more knowledge than me. Before these threads become heated, there are still some points of interest (opinion?) worth contemplating. I appreciate that people take time to share...

The fall of the Alamo, March 6, 1836.

There's an excellent book by William Davis called "Three Road to the Alamo" I think. I read it about five or six years ago. I took away that Crockett was a self-promoter (didn't like to be called Davy) none the less had strong leadership skills; Travis deserted his family, saw himself as a...

The first gun you ever shot

I think I was about 12 and it was either a friend's 410 shotgun or single shot 22 bolt action. We did not have guns in the house growing up. My father was an Infantryman in the Pacific during WWII and had seen as much of guns that he needed. Later in life, when I was out of the house, he had...
