Lee classic pistol loader & jacketed bullets

I have my old Lee Pistol Loader for .45ACP & have always loaded lead 230gr. Bullets with it. Last night I wanted to load some up with it instead of using my bench set up, everything was going good with my cleaned brass till I used my Ranier 230gr. Jacketed bullets. The 10 rounds I tried...

Mini 14 brass launching device with rifle accessory

Yup, got a buddy that has a mini 14 that is a slinger. Sometimes he like to be on my left as I shoot so I can share his brass pile :o but I get him back with my ole Colt M1911A1 that'll sling brass to the side & behind the shooter, even had some casings land in his shirt pocket when he was...

There's a retired fellow at my local range that has a semi auto Browning M1919 & loves it. I bet if he can afford it he would buy one of these.

    Duracote

Tried my first time using Duracote on one of my 1991A1's that's been needing a freshening. I didn't go dual color, just flat black. So far it looks okay except for the shine but that is supposed to go away as time progresses, my mistake which I'll live with for now is that I touched a spot...

Possible new twist on 9mm vs. .45

Agreed, shot placement is key because handguns are not as effective as rifle rounds. The only advantage I see between the 9×19mm & .45ACP fmj is the projectile diameter, 9mm verses an 11.2mm but again marginal advantage at best.

    Bent brass on extraction

My antique 1911A1 does this at least 90% of the time, just nature of the beast IMHO.

    Why are 1911's SA only

Like was mentioned earlier, the 1911 design was for single action like most everything else designed at that time. IMHO the 1911 is the best fighting pistol in both function, reliability, & feel. Think of it like ole Grand Pa, he is a little old fashioned but still feisty.

    9mm & Longshot

Good morning everyone, been reloading Ole .45ACP with Longshot for years with a cast 230gr. For a plinking round but now that my wife has a 9mm I thought to eventually tool up for her. My thinking is stay away from cast & get fmj 115gr. but looking on Hogdon sight it does have load data for...

    1911 Mutt, need some advice

Thanks rcmodel; his looks just like that. I'll check the serial number when we check the timing this weekend, if the timing is right then I'll see what he wants to do either leave it or blend it.

Okay my buddy come by tonight with his new purchase, we call it Franken-Colt. Colt 1991 slide Essex frame. Wilson Combat safeties, trigger & stop. Unknown barrel. Unknown sear, disconnect, hammer MecGar magazines. Looks pretty good & function seems solid, head spacing is good by the...

What kind of "trick shooting" can you do?

My trick shooting doesn't involve firearms. Been shooting archery for 35+ years & teach it for going on 20 years. As a demonstration for my students mostly to show them proper hold on the string, I sometimes will shoot my 46# recurve upside-down. No not like the contortionist because my body...

    Glock 17 malfunction???

Sounds like this was sorted out but I want to ring in on UMC ammo. Never had an issue with it, granted it's not the best but in the 20+ years of me & my wife using it we have never had any issues with it.
