Thanks! I downloaded it and paid for the load I was looking for. They show from 5.2gr (700fps) to a max of 6.6 gr of Unique with the 230 gr XTP bullet with an AOL of 1.230 and list that at 900 fps. Warner

AJC1, thanks for the reply. My fault for not being clearer.....when I said loading them with "enough velocity to perform as intended", I was implying fast enough to get expansion. I was also looking for any suggestions on using the Unique vs the HP38/W231. I don't believe 800fps is going...

Yep, I've been over there....not recently, but did all the prep stuff on my P45 when I first got it. That gun has been rock solid. Really a nice carry gun. A little harder to shoot accurately than a 1911, but the gun is super accurate......the shooter....varies. :) I do ok, though...

Well, I just placed my one-per-year order with Kahr through their instructor discount program. They have the best discount for NRA instructors that I know of. I had placed an order for the Baby Desert Eagle III 45 Compact, but the expected ship date was 4-6 weeks...and who knows what that...

Yep....just got word from my contact at Kahr. The Baby Desert Eagle III 45 Compact is on back order. She says 4-6 weeks. Now THAT'S a "cooling off period" if there ever was one! Hahaha. Warner

You had the III, or the II? The III just started shipping in September of last year, I believe. The compact 45 is ONLY available in steel (which is what I would get anyway, if given the choice). I'm not sure about store purchases, but on the Instructor discount program Kahr ships them with 2...
