    selecting a press (please help)

Sounds like X-dies would speed things up considerably--no trimming required and no interruption between stages 1 and 2 because no case lube is necessary....sounds too good to be true! Thanks for the info, I'll read-up on the X-Dies.

    selecting a press (please help)

Thank you all for sharing your experience and recommendations. Given the case preparation requirements for reloading rifle cartridges (223), along with my interest in just picking up this as a hobby with no time constraints, I elected to go with a single stage press. If I could throw fired...

    selecting a press (please help)

SPW, why do you prefer a single stage for rifle rounds? . Majdad, I've got the coin set aside for the press and could get a Dillon 550 or 650 (1050 is more than I want to spend). I don't want to buy a 550 or 650 if I'd be better served with a single stage and vice versa. I want to make an...

    selecting a press (please help)

I've got plenty of experience with reloading pistol ammo (Dillon SD B) but I'm new to rifle reloading. My interest is primarily in rolling .223 ammo as a hobby on my days off work. I won't be hunting or anything and I'm not concerned with benchrest accuracy, but rather just function and...

    What should I do?

Between 16" or 20" make mine 16" everytime. Better size/utility yet long enough to reach out and touch something at several hundred yards out. If getting a 16", be sure to check out mid-length gas system. Great setup for a 16". I'm partial to BCM mid-length uppers (BravoCompanyUSA.com) due...

RRA vs CMMG Help on my first AR

Check out BravoCompanyUSA.com for the BCM mid-length. Its a top-tier brand for about the same money as the other 2 you're considering and you would get a lot more for your money.

    Daniel Defense Lite Rail

Very solid mount with no play at all. They use their own steel barrel nut. Attaches via 6 allen heads. GTG. Whoever installs it will need the DD wrench, but an armorer (who already had one) installed mine so that helped.

    best cheap ar?

There are some cheap ARs that are quite expensive. Likewise there are inexpensive ARs (comparatively speaking) that are top-notch. Check out BCM. It'd be really hard to top what you get for the price. They are on par with LMT. $335--complete lower assembly (if memory serves me...

New Mini 14 or Lower Budget AR?

I say get what you want--don't settle for something solely based on price. That statement is of course, relative. But in terms of the subject at hand, you could buy the AR upper now, then as funds allow, purchase the lower. Furthermore, buying the upper and lower seperately will save you over...

Which would you want for a sd gun?

Reminds me of the November election--I don't like either choice. I'd go with a J-frame S&W
