I bought my 12 gauge 1100 in 1980 and it’s never given me any trouble. I clean it every time I use it and it still looks close to new.
I bought an LT20 a couple of years ago but haven’t gotten around to shooting it.
I bought a Browning A5 in the mid 80s after shooting my uncle’s. Great gun...
Go to Academy and buy a few Havahart traps. Wire a half ear of corn to the trip plate.
Take the squirrels trapped to some woods or swamp at least 5 miles away.
Squirrel hunters will appreciate your efforts.
I clean mine to some extent (depending on how hard they are to take apart) every time I shoot them. The Glocks are easy to take down and clean thoroughly.
The Ruger MKlls just get a cursory cleaning.
I bought them around 1981, have shot the heck out of them and have never taken them apart with...
Regarding the Federal Premium rifle ammo in the gold box in post #67 above:
A local sporting goods store went out of business probably in the late ‘80s and I loaded up on that ammo in 30/06.

I thought about it but ended up buying an S&W 60 and Colt 1991A1 instead.
I was influenced more by friends than writers.
I bought my Super Blackhawk, Weatherby .22 and Ruger 10/22 Sporter all because friends had them.
I bought my S&W K-22 because I drooled over my uncle’s when I was a kid. I bought my Browning A5 because I used my wife’s uncle’s and liked it.
I bought...
My safe is a 35 gun. I actually put a tub on the top shelf and one on the bottom shelf but I believe one would work fine.
I’m not sure what size the tub is, whatever they come in, probably around 16 oz or so.
After you buy the initial tubs you can buy the big refills cheaper.
I’ve found that...
This summer I bought a Glock 20 (10mm) to take to Alaska for bear protection while fishing. This was all new to me so I did a lot of reading.
Everything I read said to use hard cast for bears but I also read that it’s not good to use in Glocks due to the polygonal rifling. Apparently the...
No, mostly because I didn’t want to deal with an FFL and shipping. I had a lot of guns and rods & reels to get rid of and couldn’t spend that much time on one item.
