deer round for a Rem. .243........

I have used the Remington 100gr Core Lokt on 2 deer this year. Both were dead within sight. The bullet didn't fail on either. On the second deer the shot was a quartering away and the bullet entered behind the ribs, through the off side front shoulder and stoped against the hide. It was...

    Henery Lever Action....

YES...You can replace the plastic parts on your new H001. You can order metal replacements directly from Henry. These are not STEEL but are painted metal and match the receiver of the H001. There are other options as described below. After trying the Williams Fool Proof on my H001 and finding...

    electric socks

+1 on the boot blankets!!!! I have a pair called Ice Breakers boot covers. They are bulky, but they work very well. I have never had cold feet when wearing them. Sock liners are another thing I wear every time I hunt. I wear a good quality wicking liner and usually wool socks over.

    Remington SPS

I own a youth model in .243 that is sub MOA. It would make a super coyote gun. Small, light and accurate.

Short action calibers .30 and up

I like the .308 Nothing wrong with the .338 except that I don't like the recoil in a smaller gun. I carry a Remington 700 SPS Youth and it is a small, light accurate rifle. I have short arms and when all wrapped up in coats and coveralls the youth stock fits me perfect.

    My 1st buck....

Great Deer. Great shot! What do I think about head shots? I think they blow the eyes out of socket!:what: I like head shots on close range deer and hogs. They can lead to broken jaws and lost animals if they are not done correctly. What is more likely is that you either miss or you kill DRT.

    Hog Hunt Southern Florida?

Look around Belle Glade, South Bay, Clewiston and Moore Haven. These are top-notch redneck Florida Cracker towns that are full of hicks and hogs. You are sure to have fun hunting around there. I have hunted a private club in Moore Haven lots and the whole area is about as real as south Florida...

First deer shotgun for 12 year-old boy.

If my daughter had to hunt with a shotgun for deer, here is what I would do. Buy a 20 gauge Mossberg 500 youth with a smooth barrel at walmart for 209.00. Now she has a shotgun for any shotgun need. Then I would buy her a 20 gauge fully rifled barrel with cantilever scope mount for about...

    Remington model 700 .243 - HELP

Ask someone else at the range to shoot 3 shots with your gun. See what they get. If there 3 shots are nice and tight, then you know the problem. :neener: I have a Remington 700 SPS youth in .243 and it shoots very well with the Remington 100gr. Good luck.

    .243 accuracy problems

Oh man, I hate to tell you this. There are a lot of accuracy problems with the Handi's in .243. Did you get the Superlight Youth? The one with the really thin barrel? These seem to be the most problomatic. There are things you can do to help. All hope is not lost. First you need to head...
