Just as a follow up: I went ahead and bought the Sccy at the local farm store. $199 on sale. After I 've 'cooled off' suficiently in the next 72 hours I'll pick it up and give my impressions of it after I've had a chance to fire it.

Tin cans like soup and such seem to hold up much better than aluminum cans. My son and I shoot them all the time. They really don't make much of a mess and are easy to pick up afterwards.

I noticed that I can still get 16ga target loads so I guess I'll just shoot trap untill the other stuff is sorted out.
