I went to the range today to mess around with my .375 Model 94 and my Interarms .243. I took along my 1/4 steel buffalo target that I use for rimfire shooting. With the rimfires I shoot away and at the end of the day hit the buffalo with some white spray paint and it's as good as new.
Not so...
This is mine. Model 25-5; cut to three inches, ported, round butted, night sights. Pretty well done by an unknown gunsmith. I picked it up at a local gun show for $500 OTD. I love it.
I was an 11 Bravo for six years in the '80's. 101st, Southern Command in Panama and 2nd ID in Korea. Couple of trips to patrol along the Honduran/Nicaraguan border, 21 months in Korea on the DMZ. We usually carried six 30 round mags in pouches on our LBEs and one mag in our rifles for 210 rounds...
I stumbled on my dream gun last year. $499 out the door. A S&W 25-5 .45 Colt. It looks to be a former 6 inch cut to a ported 3 inch, round butted with night sights. Unknown gunsmith. It would have cost me $1500+ to build this gun.
At 15 yards it keyholes pretty bad with .452 SWC 255 grain...
