Plus 500 rds on mine with Wolff springs. Blazingly accurate. If PA-63s were detonating after XX number of rounds, it would be all over the interweb. I don't believe I ever heard of a PA-63 catastrophically breaking.
The Bulgarian that should be avoided is one specific lot from '53 IIRC. I tested some Bulgarian and Romanian and the Romanian was actually 100fps faster at 1400 fps. I have shot Polish, Bulgie and Romie thru all my CZs and Toks without any problems.
Thanks to a world economy, it's very difficult to only "buy American." As possum stated, good ole American Springfield is made everywhere but America. I think it's build a good product and they will buy it.
Beretta M9's are made in Maryland but Beretta is Italian so how much stays here...
I would say PSL. Trying to find a REAL Mosin sniper that wasn't repro'ed to look real will be tough. Lots of fakes and easy to make. Another option for the mosin would to rebuild and ex-sniper. Again time consuming looking for the right parts and that would require gunsmithing.
I would...
A shop in the area has been selling these for $850. For $600 I probably would buy one but for $850.... I handled one and it seemed to be well built. Sights seemed straight and everthing locked up tight.
I would test fire the PA-63 but I'm sure it will be fine. Remember it's 9mm Makarov. I did polish my feed ramp as mine had the bumps. I never had any problems but did it since I sometimed use it as a CCW and wanted it as reliable as possible with HPs.
Your P-38 is most likely in the $500-600 range. Original holsters can bring an additional $100 depending. I generally try to research auction sites...mostly Gunbroker. But remember, only consider the auctions that are being bid on. Just because somebody wants $1000 for a holster doesn't mean...
