Yes to your first ?, I own a few of these. The Clect -a-choke will let you multi use this gun. cyl, Mod, full is marked by lines on the top behind the choke sleeve. On cyl, you can fire slugs 2 3/4", On mod, shot shells, and full, same.... just turn the sleeve to the right line....

Mossberg made a 4 round mag for the 595. They are very sought after, more than the gun! If you can find one it will fit 395, 495, 595 and 695 series guns.
