Well for me it would be a historically significant collectible and occasional shooter. It's good to hear than you think the varnish might be factory. Is flaking blue just what it sounds like (flaking off) or is just an aged blue patina?
Yeah, that's the question. They don't strike me as knowing much about guns, so I'm a little leery of their "excellent" descriptor. I'd be buying the gun primarily as a collectible and occasional shooter. Still, being refinished wouldn't necessarily be the death knell for me as long as the price...
Understood. I'll see if I can't find valuation that way. Looking around the internet, pricing on these seem to be all over the place, so I'm a bit bamboozled as to what would be a good deal and what wouldn't.

I'm thinking about buying a clipped and pinned steel lower for my PTR but from looking at the pics I've seen, I don't understand how the stock attaches to them. On the "Navy" style polymer lowers there are two holes for the two buttstock pins to go through, but the steel lowers don't seem to...

I know the bumper people are referring to, but I didn't have any problems...
I recently bought a Fero Z24 scope for my PTR. The scope is in very nice condition with clear optics but when it is mounted the reticle is canted a few degrees off from horizontal! I don't have any experience with these scopes but is there any way to correct this? It's not a huge deal I guess...
