I've been asking around all over the place if anyone has experience with Mag-Spark adapters for the Ruger Old Army

Can’t remember the last time I’ve had a slow fire let alone a misfire in a percussion revolver. These things might be useful if you want to use Blackhorn or something like that. Or if you can’t find caps I suppose.

I didn’t mind the weight much 20 years ago… not today, unless I’m just packing it from the house to the bench.

I once won an ebay bid for an uberti blackpowder 1873. After winning I noticed that someone had drilled the opening for the firing pin to allow the use of a centerfire cylinder. Uh, nope! Not going there. The seller tried to force the issue until I told them that the next step was a call to the...

Remington 1863 New Model Police revolver do we need it?

Exactly. Why Pietta nor Uberti have seen fit to give us a Remington Police replica is beyond me. I bet they’d sell like hotcakes.

Remington 1863 New Model Police revolver do we need it?

Uberti makes the only Police model which is a five shooter like these Remington Police models. Pietta calls its short barreled 36 a police model but it’s built on the Navy frame. Remington did so many things right with the Police model.

Remington 1863 New Model Police revolver do we need it?

I’m starting a thread on this revolver as a sort of petition for those of us who feel there’s a large gap between the Army and the Pocket model Remington replicas available to us. I’ll forward the results to the two major replica manufacturers, Pietta and UbertI asking that they consider this...

Top loads using black powder in modern large caliber revolvers

This one may get you close. Be aware that the cylinder gap on a revolver will cause a pressure and velocity loss. I’ve heard numbers like 50 fps per .006” or something like that. Nobody knows for sure and the only data I’ve ever seen was compiled using modern propellants in cartridges like the...
