    Found a 'G' under the barrel at base of the loading lever. It appears to be in a hexagon stamp. No G in mnf code so still SOL. Thanks for the help. The underside of the backstrap does have a notch for an extension stock if that means anything in determining age.

    I have an 1861 Navy (with 1843 scene on cylinder) .36 cal blued round 7 1/2" barrel with a serial number of 128983. The Uberti 'U' is located by the serial number in its muzzle and sight stamp but no other code initials appear to be present on the piece other than the 'PN' and the star stamp...
