I have been trying to make nitrate papers so that I can make paper cartridges for my IAB 1863 sharps replica...I soaked some tracing paper in a container with pot..nitrate (salt peter) in water for around 15 minutes. I them let the sheets of paper completely dry....I tried burning some of paper...

updaye Just an update.....I was able to get the safety noch to work sometimes....this has double triggers and I wonder if the adjustment screw for the trigger has any affect on this....

I just got my used IAB Sharps today...in general it looks good (bores good) but I noticed two things...first...there seems to be play in the breech but with hammer down..it locks up tight...is this normal...second..when cocking the hammer it will not go into safety mode but will cock completely...

In the area I live...it is almost impossible to find rws musket caps for my IAB 1863 sharps. Online research suggests that some people are replacing the nipples with a nipple that will take the #11 magnum cap. Does anyone know any company that is selling a replacement nipple that will work on...

I have read about those Charlie Hahn cardboard cartridges....want to order..just not sure of what size to order...was thinking about the 1.5 as a compromise....and using the depth (seating) of bullet to determine tightness of fit (length).

I just joined this board. I bought and IAB 1863 Sharps Percussion rifle from a dealer. I dont know much about these...It was used and did not come with the owners manual...I was wondering if anyone new how to obtain and owners manual...I tried online with no luck...any help would be appreciated.
