DMPS AR 15 Panther, how far behind

Remember too that the backlog includes the rifles shops ordered months ago. So keep checking the local shops to see what shows. Here in MN a few weeks ago bull barrelled models were showing up, and a week ago dealers suddenly had a few classics around. It appears that DPMS is putting them out in...

    Colt 6920 vs. S&W M&P15

MN Prices Well, the local gunshop had two 6920s for $1850 and M&P15s for $1550 with Magpul furniture and I think 1350 with the standard furniture. At the show one dealer from S. MN had a 6920 for 1750 and another had one for $1550. Not to hard to guess which route I went. And he gave me a...

    Colt 6920 vs. S&W M&P15

Well, todays big gun show in town solved my dilemma. I was able to find a brand new 6920 for $300 less than the gun shop near me had it for sale. So that made the choice easy and I bought the Colt.

    Colt 6920 vs. S&W M&P15

Would you care to elaborate on this comment? While I own handguns from both manufacturers, I don't have an AR from either. My impression (including from the famous/infamous 'chart') is that S&W's ARs are a little more highly regarded than say Olympic/DPMS/Armalite/Bushmaster/RRA and hence my...

    Colt 6920 vs. S&W M&P15

OK, I have a comparison question, but before I ask it let me preface it by requesting that no one suggest a different alternative. I realize there are other comparable choices (e.g., LMT), but this is what is currently available in my locale. So I want to stick with comparing these two carbines...

    Your chosen 'MinuteMan' rifle....

This is to totally ignore the fact that the vast majority of these so-called guerrilla groups were financed and supplied by other governments, who did it for there own politically expedient reasons. Since, by definition they were expendable, these guerrillas were not supplied with "the very best...

The purchase by the Canadian company fell through according to the Minneapolis paper, which is why the Minnesota ones are among those closing.

AR15......White Oak upper w/ Essential lower -or- Rock River NMA4

FYI Some manufacturers, like DPMS, still use the term "pre-ban" to distinguish barrels with bayonet lugs and flash hiders.

    Top 10 "Black Gun" List

Where do you live?????? Here in MN (DPMS home territory) there are lots of collapsible 16" DPMS, but no Panther Lites or Classics.

    Shooting my Marlin 336

I think the typical tendency is to let the bench do the work of holding the rifle, so that you don't pull the stock as tightly against your shoulder as you would when standing. This lets the stock build up momentum and increases felt recoil. My suggestion is to concentrate on pulling the rifle...

Need help with an AR15 decision

I don't know where you live, but there are plenty of ARs around up here in Minnesota (you know liberals don't need evil black rifles, yah sure you betcha). So you could do a dealer to dealer transfer and pick up what you need for a small fee. Try Bill's Gun Shop or Capra's. Good luck. BTW...

    Gun show search.

It might not be quite what you are after but the NRA includes a calendar of regional gun shows on a monthly basis in their publications. Maybe its available on line too.

    .45 Colt or .45 ACP?

I'll bet .45 acp will be far more common. However, I wouldn't like betting on the availability of moon clips, in a time of scarcity.
