Well, todays big gun show in town solved my dilemma. I was able to find a brand new 6920 for $300 less than the gun shop near me had it for sale. So that made the choice easy and I bought the Colt.

I think the typical tendency is to let the bench do the work of holding the rifle, so that you don't pull the stock as tightly against your shoulder as you would when standing. This lets the stock build up momentum and increases felt recoil. My suggestion is to concentrate on pulling the rifle...

It might not be quite what you are after but the NRA includes a calendar of regional gun shows on a monthly basis in their publications. Maybe its available on line too.
