    Lee Auto Disk

I have the auto disc and it seems to work fine for pistol calibers and .223 w/ a through the die powder-die on a turret. for some of my loads I don't even need double disc for .223 depending on the specific powder (H335 for me). since the OP's question seems to have been answered, I'd...

What do you do with your empty powder containers?

peel the labels off and throw them in the recycle bin....

    9mm: 115gr LRN 3.6gr Bullseye

again, like the others, no 115 LRN data. however for 124LRN I use 4.0gr BE and have tried 4.3 and 4.6 (HOT!) for 147gr lead I use 3.5gr BE and it shoots well. so, your much lighter 115gr bullets will be on the light side and should be plenty safe.

    Problems with Monarch Brass?

NNY NNY head stamp is actually PRVI. so your monarch brass is just reboxed PRVI. I've used lots of NNY in 30-06, 7.5 swiss, 8mm Mauser, and x54R. narry a problem with the brass. your reloading results are suspicious. pull the bullets out of the unfired cases, deprime, resize & trim, and...

Upgrading from single stage to progressive or turret

A turret press isn't just a single stage w/ a die plate. as mentioned, when you stroke the ram the turret index over to the next die in the loading sequence. It really is a great compromise between a single stage and a progressive. it is much cheaper and if you use reload multiple calibers you...

    32 S&W long question

i use 100gr RNFP from missouri bullet over 2.0gr of bullseye in my early 1900s hand ejector. pretty easy shooting and accurate enough. 1.8gr was a pretty light load. Top break revolvers are usually noted to run lighter loads due to the lack of frame strength. these slugs are .313 and my...

Load for .38spl using 158gr FMJSWC

sacrifice one. cut it open to verify the jacket or plating. that will eliminate most of the uncertainty. you own a hacksaw or even heavy wire cutters, right?

    inconsistant seating depth

i had inconsistent seating on a set of Lee 8mm Mauser die. turns out the seating insert had a big ol' nick in it. the disturbed metal resulted in the inconsistency. I still have yet to send it back for replacement....

    30-06 brass (Doh!!!)

One the right hand side of the 2nd case from the left, the ring looks like it is still rather deep. Being this is brass, and the location should be well ahead of the webbing, wouldn't one expect the pressures to flatten the ring all the way out? Assuming this is Russian ammo mfg'ed ring, of...

    Gunsmithing Tools: Drill Press

I have a delta DP350 and I really like it a lot. one thing that sets it apart from others similarly priced is that it has continuously adjustable chuck speed. from 500rpm up to 3500 IIRC. No changing belts or adjusting pulleys. also the verticle adjustable surface has a degree indicator and...

    best powder for 223

My limited experirence says Varget works better for MY AR than Bench mark. thats working up various loads using two brands of 62gr & 1 55gr bullet. I would like to try TAC and 335 to see how it goes.

    .223 bullets. Where to buy?

wideners is good but so is grafs. they charge the least for shipping/handing than any of the places I've seen (when not buying the multiple-thousand bulk packages)

How many bad dies did you get?

I've had two bad Lee dies out of twelve. one had a bad burr in the throat of the seating die for one rifle set and other where it was reamed too deep and none of the brass would chamber in 3 different rifles.

Loading .223 on a Lee Turret Loader

I recently started running .223 on my turret. I use a generic rifle powder charging die and double up the disc when needed for powder dispenser. works fine. Nice to be able and knock out the rounds fairly quickly.
