    Front sight block removal

You know how many people are going to want that service? Heck, buy the die set and get a few friends to chip in who want their AR's turned.

Okay - Here it is - POLL - Open Carry, Yes or No - and Why.

Doesn't freak people out. I've carried in all the major metropolitan areas of Va without incident.

    Pistol Range in the Basement

antsi, I saw now where the new fad is to put a top and bottom plate before the 45 degree plate, putting them at a more extreme angle, like 30 degrees. The exit hole is only a couple inches wide where the bullet then proceeds to the 45 degree plate. Eliminates "sweet spots" where the 45...

    Favorite Semi-Auto Lube

I feel like I've tried them all, but always revert back the ol' standby - Gunslick grease. Never did like oils much, and Gunslick's all weather. Grease doesn't collect any more dirt/particles than oil. It's a matter of how much of either used, not what type. If oil isn't collecting...

    quick question

It's really just a design issue, no real pros or cons. I guess one could stretch a wild guess to say that it's easier to design a bolt with key for compactness, but it's not like there's no other way around it. How about this: "Because.":p

Okay - Here it is - POLL - Open Carry, Yes or No - and Why.

"Tactical". There's that word again.... Daily open carrier here, as many of you already know from past debates. Don't remember how long I've been doing it now - maybe close to 4 years now? ksnecktieman pretty much nailed my point of view on the subject. To "tactically" avoid...

Infernal .22!!!! I condemn you to hell!!!!

I kinda prefer my squirrel-gitters to shoot a little high. "Lollipoping" to squirrel is the best way to keep an eye on'm. Not saying your condition is right (any sights, as you know too well, should be able to be adjusted to hit wherever you want them to, within reason), but it sounds perfect...

Why are people so attached to their party?

I thought flatrock really nailed it, as informed voters go anyway. Simply put, when you don't want your vote "wasted", and you realize you'll never see eye-to-eye on all issues with any one candidate, it comes down to the nose-holding that's been mentioned. There is no perfect choice, unless...

    My best 3-shot group do-date!

Charts, CHARTS?!? So, using the chart, shooting a 1.5" group at roughly 500 yards, aren't you shooting a negative moa? :D :D Mighty fine shootin....I'm happy with that group at 200 yards:p

Saw a nice homemade backstop yesterday..

Good call Daniel, that's exactly the case. Oh and just so you know Ranger, Kevlar breaks down rapidly. It's widely known that kevlar should not be used for personal protection more than a year at a time. ;) As I said - he changes the logs periodically. I think it's a good idea myself...

Saw a nice homemade backstop yesterday..

Went to church picnic yesterday at a church member's house. I noticed he had a nice 200 yard shootin lane behind the garage. He addressed a common problem I find in making my shooting lanes - the farthest shot was a little downhill, so he had to raise the target about 7 feet off the ground...

Dang Old&Slow, now there's a reply to my post I didn't expect! Thanks!!:)

Question for pistol manufacturers - why no lefty slide stops?

I too use my index finger without trouble. I've also become climatized to slingshoting. I've even strove to perfect the technique, on 1911's anyway, of slamming the mag home so hard that the slide releases itself. My question isn't technique, it's "why should I have to", all for lack of the...
