If you are going to have it cut down by a professional then just use the money to buy a used Stoeger coach gun. They are stout and meet your needs. Remember a 30" double is like having a 27-28" barreled shotgun since it sets back several inches on the water table of the receiver.

I am having a difficult time zeroing my new ShortTrac. I checked scope mounts and everything was good and tight. I could not group this gun with 2 different ammo brands 165 grain bullets. I was on a good supported bench.

I have hunted turkey with my BPS with 26" barrel. It is a great gun but a little heavy to lug around in the woods. The benefit is that I have used it for duck and geese and it has worked flawlessly once you figure out how to load it...:)
