Pulling a gun on a unarmed assailant?

Against an unarmed attacker there'd have to be a major, obvious disparity or force to be legally justified. I.E. 80yr old or cripple vs fit young guy, etc etc. Use of lethal force against a ruffly equal unarmed attacker would likely end you in court. Maybe you can explain your fear away...

    Florida concealed carry laws

Few things often brought up: No "duty to inform" if pulled over Signs carry no weight of law, unless the place is off limits by law anyway in which case it's basically just notice/reminder anyway Covered under the US handgun law link if you read thoroughly, but our "bar carry" is a screwey...

Concealed carry: now more than ever?

I'd like to see the arm up calls taken a step further. Pass laws allowing State/county/Local ranges to be opened to the public under controlled conditions with liability waivors, and volunteer leo or certified instructors donating time to give live fire classes free of charge just byoa...

You may have too much ammo if...

    Body armor defeating 9mm?

Failure drills. Handgun vs armored assailant, headshot's best bet, although depending on the person and type of armor the first couple to the vest may at least hurt enough to momentarily slow him dow for the follow up. True AP handgun ammo's pretty much illegal.

What Constitutes A "Full Sized" Handgun.

I'd say #2's about right, with the caveat that it's all based off avg adult sized hands. I'd also add a 4th for micro/pocket sizes Full: Duty weapon, not ment for concealment Mid: Slightly smaller, somewhat easier to conceal with minimal usability sacrifice Sub: Small, often 2 fingered w/out...

    5.7x28 for defensive carry

If that's someone's prefrence than more power to em, not necesarily a "bad" choice, but not for me. Had a friend that carried one, may not be easy but with the right setup it can be done. Capacity, 20 vs 17 in a 9mm, I'll stick with a 9min over a steroidal .22. In it's intended role, either...

Feinstein's Latest Bill - The Terrorist Watch List Bill

If it were only legit terror suspects, then sure. The problem is it's way too easy to wind up on a list and ggod luck getting off it, even with lawyers it'll take time and money to clear your name. These are watch lists, minimal if any evidence required, not necesarily actual terrorists or...

Advice Needed Glock 19 ejection issues

Had the same problem several times. First Glock was a gen4 19 that did it, traded in for a 17. 17 ran fine a few hundred rounds, then started putting brass in my face. By that point I liked the gun so I did some research and fixed it. Can't say for sure which part did the trick or if it was...

If you could only keep one gun

As a strictly hypothetical, Glock 26. Defensive EDC handgun for carry and home. All other purposes are secondary to defense and you can't lug around a long gun everywhere every day.

How should I test this new armor?

M193 should be stopped by lvl III I'd imagine even if the NIJ rating doesn't specify, rated for M80 ball ought to stop 55gr. As for the M855, been a few years and it might have been for a 20" M16, but isn't 855 velocity 3200fps book answer, not 3k as on the site? I don't see anything really...

Deciding on a Concealed Carry Gun

+1 on the body shape. When I first started carrying as a slim young Airman a G21 was easy in a normal t-shirt. Now, still doable with effort but the same shirts don't hang loose like they used to.

Deciding on a Concealed Carry Gun

How much does width affect carry? My finalists vary from .9in to 1.2in wide. Should width affect my evaluation? Slimmer will be easier, especially depending on clothing, but main difficulty is the grip length sticking out and printing. Is printing illegal itself, just plain bad, or merely...

Lee hand press for first time reloader?

Absolutely go for it. Slow but they work just fine. Even now I still use it for decaping/sizing while watching TV instead of having to be at the bench for everything, so it can still get use latter when/if you decide to go with a mounted press of some sort.

    COMPLETE-AR noob-considering

Good start and it looks like the upper ships complete already so that cuts some work on the build. As others stated you will need some tools, although the vice block isn't absolutely needed. Would make it easier, but lower can be finished without a vice. Unless you already have em, just...
