7.5 gr Green Dot and Lee TL452-230-TC

I have been trying out 7.5 grains of Green Dot and the Lee TL452-230-TC bullet (dropping at 233 grains ) in my Uberti .45 Colt. The barrel is 5.5" long. I have been getting an average of 830 FPS. The target shown in the attachment was fired at with 15 rounds from 15 yards.

I have no clue what the pressure is of this load. But, would there be any reason to think this load would damage my Uberti revolver?

Where did you get the load data?

Even with a fast powder I doubt 230gr @ 830 fps is over tier 1.

I can run a QL "guess" if you'd like.

I wish there was load data for all suitable cartridges and Green Dot. I have no .45 Colt data.

Alliant load data, 45 colt with Green Dot

3) NEVER use cartridges marked “High Speed” or “High Velocity”.
4) Uberti assumes no liability for incidents occurring through the use of reloaded
ammunitions.
Use ONLY COMMERCIALLY loaded cartridges that have been loaded in accordance
with SAAMI-C.I.P. standards.

There is load data here from Alliant using Greer Dot and 250 gr lead. http://castpics.net/dpl/ Your load looks ok on paper to me. I would not go higher for low pressure SAAMI loads. 6.8 for a 250gr L. @ 855fps from the 1996 Alliant powder guide.

Not seeing a cast Green Dot 230 load anywhere, on-line. Doubt that load will bother your revolver given 7.5 grains of Green Dot is the start load for a 200, but contact Alliant and ask to be sure.

7.0 gr., 872 fps, 9,300 cup.
7.8 gr., 988 fps, 12,700 cup.

At 7.5 gr., you should be well under the pressure max.
