Yesterday, I went to the local fun store, and made some trades.

The things I lost in trade can be pretty easily replaced: traded Tristar c100, several AR mags and a small amount of money for an Aimpoint Pro rubber armored, Draco vest with 5 rifle pouches, two pistol mag pouches, molle attachments, camelback carrier. OD green. No sidearm holster, but easy fix with drop leg or similar.

I'm not without a sidearm btw. Have a decent 1911A1.

Thoughts guys?

Also, I have an Arsenal 5.56 which is great except mag cost... Oh, also Chilean Mauser in .308. LOVE IT!

Sure thing! Pics will be coming, however they will be with my iPhone 5, the only camera I have LOL.

hey if you're happy, then we're happy for you! Looks like you've got a pretty decent collection going on there and you got the accessories that you wanted.

PJSprog:

I think it's a Chiliaen, but possibly an Argentine. I need to do some closer inspection to be sure.

Love my new Aimpoint on the Windham!

That Chilean Mauser looks a lot like my Spanish Guardia Civil small ring Mauser rechambered for 7.62x51 (some say NATO, some say CETME).

I don't plan on putting too many 7.62x51 through mine as I have a couple thousand rounds of plastic training rounds for it (think 10gr projectiles at 4000FPS).

I've only put 50 rounds of these training rounds through mine, but man do they scream. About as loud as a 9mm pistol and no recoil, but they put a laser-cut hole in paper and atomize apples.
Oh, and they'll plow through 3/4" plywood at 25 yards too, so they might do for small game hunting withing that range.
Safe for my Mauser's action, easy on the shoulder, accurate and fun to shoot, I bought mine for $9/50 a while back. They might still be available.

Please tell me you kept your PM/CM9 that appears in one of your photos. My CM9 is my EDC and I have no plans on working anything into rotation with it. It's perfect for me.

My dad has an old small ring mauser that was rechambered like yours. It was bubba'd when he got it, but actually done pretty well. Now it sports a bent bolt in a nice synthetic stock and a 3-9x40 Weaver scope.
I know they're not made to withstand the pressure of a full throttle .308 round (but boy did we put a ton of them through it before we knew that ).

What we do is load .308s using the Hodgdon youth load data, which is well below starting loads, which is safe with the powder they recommend.
It's fine for deer inside 150 yds or so and isn't putting the strain on the action like full powered loads.

I understand that's quite a common thing. I knew to avoid .308 Winchester going in and perhaps even 7.62x51 Nato as some insist it was intended for the even milder 7.62x51 Cetme. However, I came across a few that put hundreds of various .308 Win rounds through theirs without issue.
Hearing their stories make me cringe, especially from those who knew the supposed risk of such loads from a 2 lug (no 3rd "safety lug") Mauser yet continued using the full powered fodder.

I only load for pistols, but if I loaded for rifles, I'd definitely load for this 1916 Spanish Mauser much like you did.
