I find myself in possession of a G17 "upper" without a lower. Would like to buy a frame and get another Advantage Arms conversion kit, too. Does anyone know if that's a realistic plan?

I was in the same postion two years ago. I looked everywhere and came with zilch. It looked like my only option was to order one from Glock and have it shipped to my FFL. Shipping plus transfer fees made buying a used G17 the better option and I wound up keeping the extra upper as spare parts. The nice thing about having an extra slide is that if you ever considered trying some crazy sight or finish set up you could have that done and always have a stock slide as a spare.

You like the Advantage Arms conversion kit? I've been thinking about one for my G26. But reports of ammo sensitivity have scared me away....

I've owned a G17 kit and also shot a G26 kit -- both work nicely. I gave my kit and the G17 frame to a close friend, but she has no use for the 9x19 upper (can't operate it).

Kudos to glockmeister. Their shopping cart is buggy and their shipping/'handling is high but their customer service and product knowedge is top notch. I wish I knew about them two years ago.

A while back I thought it would be cool to buy a Glock frame and a MechTech CCU upper but had some difficulty finding just the Glock frame.

I've seen a couple on Gunbroker in the past ... there's a G26/27 frame up there now http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=18524523

Come to think of it, I think I saw an G19 frame a while back photographed on that same carpet, maybe that guy deals in frames ... anyway at $150 or so it sounds like a better deal then buying a whole gun.
