So I'm in Seville Spain and yesterday I randomly came across a military museum and it was pretty impressive! I took tons of pictures and figured I'd share some of them. I've been to a number of military museums over the years, this one definitely ranks at the top!

Great pictures of a great collection. If anyone ever gets the chance you should visit the Canadian War Museum in Ottowa. The collection there is probably not as broad in weaponry, but the realistic displays of how it was (including real trenches from WWI) gives the experience a greater impact in my opinion.

I feel really proud of myself for knowing over half the LMGs/HMGs off the top of my head by sight; as Joe Biden would say, "That's a big FN-D!" :D

Sadly, no image of the elusive CETME Ameli (belt fed 223 MG42) as I can see :( (but every other CETME, I think). Anyone else notice that Spaniard guns used to be much nicer back when they owned half the planet?

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Went to my oldest stepson's graduation at Ft. Benning just shortly after they finished the new Infantry museum down there. That was a fun museum. Also, did the outside walking tour of the tanks, artillery, and helos while he was stationed at Ft. Hood. Also a fun collection (indoor part was closed that day).

Wow great pics.

Saw lots of Mausers but no 91/30s. I personally own a 91/30 used in the Spanish Civil War and I know Stalin sent over a ton of them. Maybe it is the age old story of the victor getting to tell the story?

I have a personal fascination with the history of Spain. It is a very storied history. At one point in time they were the greatest empire on the planet, and yet their greed laid them lowest among the low.
Worthy of a Shakespeare play.

Sweet!!

(Homer Simpson voice) Mmm - beltfed!

That "periscope" rifle was a hoot! I wonder if they could use the iron sights on the gun or just had to "wing it"?

Cool.

Could you see the sights through the periscope of the rifle I'm assuming was meant to be fired from a trench?

It doesn't look like a fun rifle to shoot, but then wars aren't fun places to be anyway.

Wow, that's one fine museum! Amazing collection of firepower! Thanks for the free tour.

Apparently not a military museum. Bing says it's The Seville Military Historic Museum. Thought it deserved a shout-out.

Edit: Also listed as Museo Militar Regional.

An eye-popping exhibit of artifacts to be sure.

Is the museum a government entity or a private nonprofit organization?
