So I'm looking for a fiber optic set for my springfield xd9. My primary question is what's the best set up? Three green dots? I had too many issues with the standard white dots and painted the front a safety orange and the back a neon green. This has helped a bit but its short term. So should I get a red front and green rear? Or vice versa? What will work best for the human eye? If you recommend a brand id like to be able to swap out the fiber optic tubes.

I had dawson precision sights on my xd. The rear was black with the red fiber optic front. The sight picture was great. Just be aware that removing the factory sights can be very difficult.

I've replaced two of my Kahr fronts with Dawson's red fibre. They come with extra tubes in green and red. Surely helped my aging eye for daytime target shooting. Really lights up.
Haven't tried the green, but expect it would be good as well. Perhaps not as bright, just guessing.
There is another maker, perhaps many others, but one is "Kensight" that make a nice looking fibre optic that I'm thinking of trying for my other Kahr that has a dovetail front. The two above were pegged and very easy to change out.

HiViz makes alright stuff too.
I like the Dawson sights that have the replaceable optics, so you can go from red to green, etc.. For my eyes black rears with a red front FO works the best, and this is what I have on my CZ 75B. I tried the green FO front sight, but liked the red better.
Second choice would be green FO rears with a red FO front. I think most of the HiViz sights come with this configuration.

This. Plain black rear sight, red front. I tried a HiViz green on my CZ but it was too big and the wrong height. Dawson is the way to go.

I've put Dawson fronts (red) with plain black rears on 4 pistols (so far).

Black rear and FO front. Red works best for my mature eyes.
For me, color on the rear sight were distractions from the front sight on target centered in the slot.
