What is yours?

I'm really partial to a 12 gage Remington 1100 and an 20 gage Beretta 686 but when I'm honest with myself I think my favorite is shotgun is the 20 gage Remington 870 youth express. It's short, light and rough as a Cobb but it hits just as good as the Beretta. Every time I head to the range it's the first one I grab because I don't mind if others of less experience use it. Believe me, some of the guys I shoot with can break just about anything but not the little express. Even if they could, and they have done there very best, I can get it running again in no time flat. Plus, recoil is very manageable and has few if any limitations. It's the do all shotgun for me, which alone doesn't qualify as a favorite, but it just makes me happy.

What's your favorite shotgun?

Mine's a Browning Citori 20 ga. I've never had anything else that just feels so right.

#1, my 870 TB from 1972 which I finally had to retire this year after 44 years of constant battering on the trap, skeet, hunting fields. Cracked receiver, broken action bars, and so on but.....over 300,000 rounds through it. Put it in the vault with the 55 25-straight, 14 50 straight and 7 75 straight patches I won (from one club, the other didn't give patches).
It earned its retirement.
The barrel lives on on another 870 receiver.
#2, My 1964 Browning Superposed Lightning Trap which I have not learned well enough to replace the 870 but getting close.

Browning Citori. I love the feel of an O/U. It's definitely the last firearm that I would sell if forced to sell.

My Browning A5 is my favorite but my Remington 870 shoots a mighty good turkey pattern .

I have Benellies, Brownings, Winchester: great gus all, but my favorite is still an 870 Wingmaster 12ga with a full choke and plain barrel. I just can't find a gun that fits me any better.

I fall in love far too often. Most recently, my infatuation took this parth -- Beretta AL391 Urika 2 --> Remington 1100 Trap --> Beretta A400 Excel Sporting --> Beretta 686 White Onyx Sprorting --> Browning 725 Citori Trap

I like the 870 best, then the Ithaca 37 (have one of each). Always liked the 1100, and the Benellis in autos. And finally the BT-99 for a single, and the Superposed and Win. 101 tie for double.

I am partial to a Baikal 330 in 20 gauge, an O/U. My default choice for small game and bird hunting, it always goes bang when I pull the trigger. It can be 80 degrees or -10 at altitudes from 1000 feet to 8000 feet, it always work. It didn't cost enough to worry about dragging it through the brush, but it is also fun to shoot 7/8 oz. trap loads. Hard to go wrong.

Hard to name my favorite, Ithaca 37 20 gauge probably the one though. Modified choke, 26 inch, swings great and carries in the field even better. Has taken a lot of game, turkey, pheasant, quail, dove, bunnies and 1 snake. It has quite a few "battle scars" from the brush to barbed wire. I have had it the longest and shot countless boxes of shells through it. The action is beyond slick, if that's possible. Bought it from my boss, over 25 years ago for $150, he said the action was wore out.

I love my Savage 720 in 12ga.. It does great with rabbits, coons, or other critters that size. But, I use my Mossberg 500 more since it works great with steel shot.

Citori was nice, but hit high, same as my BPS Upland Special.
Had a few 1100 magnums and regulars, still have one 1100 Special Purpose.
About a dozen 870's.
Some Mossbergs and SKB, Ithaca autos.
Couple import lower end OU (worked fine after modifications).

Faves?

1100 Magnum 12 and 870 Special Field 20.

I have had a few Express and some Supermags.........still have one turkey model.
Abuse the crap out of it, still looks new. Kills turkeys and doves dead.

Love my 870 Magnum that I picked up in the used rack of Cabelas. Slapped on an 18-1/2" barrel, and it's my go-to gun. I'll occasionally put the 28" barrel back on and shoot some trap.

Most of my trap/sporting clays is done with an 11-87 Sportsman. When I really want a challenge, it's a Mossberg 500E in .410 gauge. That's a fun one.

Would have to be my 20ga 1100 LT20 that my Dad gave me when I was 15. Shot my first deer with that gun, killed 100's of barn pigeons, sparrows, and starlings, a few ducks and geese and the occasional pheasant. Learned to shoot skeet with it and it's modified barrel. It's not my most shot gun, but it has tremendous memories attached to it.

I break it out of the safe now and again to shoot a bit of skeet, have probably 20 other shotguns that I shoot as good. My target workhorse is a Beretta 692 Supersport that I shoot very well. Had a 1897 Winchester out today and shot 1 round of skeet with it, 23/25. With it's ugly polychoke on the end it has character.

My favorite is my 14" 590A1. My close runner up is my 18" 870 Police.

Winchester model 12, in 16ga. Mine is a well worn '26 version, with an action thats smooth as butter. It points pretty naturally, and is just a pleasure to shoot.

I am partial to the model 21 Winchester. A friend had one that he let me use. It was a pre 59 custom deluxe made for his grandfather. In my limited experience, I believe it is the best gun I have ever held.
