Sub-guns are obsolete. Pistol Caliber Carbines don't have a place in today's self defense world. What use is a 6+ pound handgun? 9mm isn't a man stopper! It's a useless semi-auto only copy of a sub-machine gun.

A friend of mine who purchased this SITES Spectre HC Pistol new in the late 80's decided it was time to part with it. While I don't need this in any way shape or form, it's one of those "kick yourself for passing it up" deals that I know I'd regret not pouncing on. I mean, when was the last time you've seen one for sale? This is the first I've ever seen for sale.

Came in the original box with the "Honestly now? Have you read this owner's manual?" manual, and a 22 round mag plus two 50 round mags.

If nothing else, this makes a nice companion piece to my H&K USC - UMP-45 conversion I completed several years ago.

Hey that's pretty cool! I bet it's a soft shooter. I like pistol caliber carbines. I'm not a huge fan of wanna be su guns, for exactly the reasons you listed, but that doesn't mean they aren't fun. It just means I don't make enough money.

If I only had guns I "needed" I would have a lot more money but then what, play golf or collect stamps?

I'd want that only if it were for the connection to Goldeneye for N64... I've got some of the guns and am working to complete the set :)

I won't lie, I purchased my USC and did the UMP conversion specifically because of Call of Duty. Of course, that massive investment yielded one of favorite go to guns on the range. Amazingly fun. The Goldeneye N64 connection with this doesn't fail me either.

I can't wait to spend some time with this puppy out back. Maybe I'll hang a zombie target up.

If it's within your means

Why not, especially if you're interested in it.

I feel your quandary. This thing was sitting in the back of a file cabinet at an estate sale.

No reason to buy it, it's not "open bolt", it's heavy and crude but at least it has crappy sights.

Had to get it.

One small factor was that I have always regretted selling an original OA-93. It took me some insight and time to get it to run well and reliably regardless of ammo but the challenge was worth it. I made a good bit of money tuning up other's OAs and eventually, someone offered me too much money for mine and I sold it.

Flash forward to this and my regretting not buying an open bolt version back in the day not to mention a select fire.... Couldn't help myself!

I say, dive in and enjoy it whether you shoot it or not. Some of these odd-balls really sing out from our pasts and are a shame to pass on when they give us another opportunity.

Detonics .45s, C.O.P.S., Johnson Rifles, AR-180s... How many chances do we get?

Todd.

Couldn't agree more Todd.

Why? Because we can. It reminds me of movies back in the 80's and 90's.

From what I've heard, golf may even be more expensive than our hobby! :) What can you sell used golf clubs for? Or a bag? But a used 1911...now that has some value! (Yeah, I know nothing about golf, so used golf clubs may be worth a lot, too, but you get my drift.)

To the OP, cool looking setup. Do it if you want!

There ya go!

Just another way to "re-visit".

You should get it if only for those funky mags.

We had a couple different platforms in our "foreign weapons" suite using mags of that general style in that the lower was smash as you can then going to "double stack/staggered".

I wish I could remember which guns they were.

Todd.

Oh the deal is already done. After he himmmm'd and hawwww'd for a while he finally named a price that I was happy to pay.

The extra 50 round magazines alone would be a lucrative piece of the package, but I'll hang onto them and gladly be the second owner of this item for a long time.

I've played with some interesting items during some foreign weapons orientation. I agree with you, though, the design of the mag is unique. Ballooning out to four columns once it clears the mag well is interesting.

Yup, and listen to him voicing regrets before too long.

Todd.

After 30 years of owning it, he tells me that he decided his tricked out Glock 17 does everything this does and meets his needs.

I be he'll miss this thing before too long.
