I posted a week ago about what rifle to get in 6.5 Creedmoor. I had the funds, but was having a hard time choosing. Farmerboy78 mentioned the Savage LRP. After all the comments were digested (thank all for their good advice), I choose the LRP. An email last Friday to my dealer told me he charges $1039 for the rifle. I said get me one and the rifle arrived on Tuesday. I was pretty busy all week and wasn't able to get there until today. I started to mount the scope after work. Savage Model 12 LRP, DNZ Mount, and Viper Vortex Scope 6.5-20x. I still have to adjust the scope a bit. I have been busy converting 22-250 brass.

Don't know when I will be able to shoot it, I will be out of town the next three out of four weeks.

I neck the brass with my new 6.5 die. No problems there. Then you fireform them. I took a couple and put about 10 grains of No 5 in them. Fill the rest with Cream of Wheat. Then a wad of toilet paper on top. Fired them into a pile of rages. Makes a little pop and voila you have 6.5 brass. I only did two. The rest I will fire form at the range in a few weeks. Off to Georgia next week for work. Be back one week in the next four. Augusta and then Macon.

Good on you!

DH 1633 PM--Nice looking rifle! And I have heard nothing but good things about the 6.5 CM, except that it is supposed to be a barrel burner.

Just got one myself, a Ruger Precision Rifle; like both it and the cartridge very much so far.

Question: Although not everyone stocks it as yet, there is good 6.5CM brass available (I got Nosler brass, from Midsouth). So, why bother with the putzy job of fireforming cases?
