Hey guys , so quick issue im having ... i recently installed a trigger spring kit for my mosin... all the kit does is remove slack from trigger for a better feel, However post install, when loaded i every other shot, if i am lucky, I have to pull the trigger twice in order to fire. when dry firing and not loaded however it fires perfectly fine... any help on what could be the cause ?

thats the thing though, it still is the stock trigger all i did was install a spring and a sear shim.

The sear shim is probably your issue. That directly affects the firing pin release. Remove it and the problem should go away.

My advice: don't go monkeying with it that way. It's likely not allowing the sear to fully move, which can lead to excess wear as the firing pin lug drags across the edge of it. If you want a better trigger, shell out the money for a Timney.

Get yourself a trigger for an M39 Finnish mosin. Problem solved!! Two stage and light years ahead of the std. mosin trigger.

This.

I have 6 M39's, one of my favorite bolt action rifles. All have good triggers, 2 of them have really good triggers and can challenge my K31's at the range. for what started out as a (what some call) a crude Mosin, the transformation that the Finns did with them is nothing short of amazing. They replaced the std barrel with high grade barrels from Belgium, changed the stocks, shimmed the actions into the stocks, changed the sights, and took the original trigger parts and polished them to make a very smooth trigger.
I have more MN's than I can think of in all flavors and love all of them and the history that surrounds them, but the Finns are a special breed.
Read the book "White Death" for a great telling of the Finns fighting off the Russkies with their own captured rifles. In their day, the Finns were the "Mouse that Roared".
