same knife.

keys, phone, wallet, etc. dont change..

Wilderness Explorer belt
Leatherman sidekick on left pocket
misc folders on right pocket, normally an Emerson
Olight I2 in left pocket
XD Mod 2 in .45 double stack IWB holster Blackhawk leather
bandaids in wallet
keychain has leatherman and magnesium rod with small hacksaw blade
Zippo in 5th pocket with aftermarket butane insert

I just found a flashlight that I am going to incorporate into my EDC.

I had an Olight T10 that I wanted to carry before but it was too big.

I just picked up a Fenix E15 2016 model yesterday. This little thing is Epic for its size, it throws 450 Lumens with a 16340 and 270 with a CR123A.

While out of the country, are you able to carry ANY items of self-defense (eg, fighting cane, folding knife, etc.)?

No... Most places even a small knife is illegal for a Visa holder.
