saving gun boxes

I keep them in a large heavy duty contractor garbage bag in my garage loft. Take up so much space, but I sell a few off now and then.

I have space so I keep them all if they came w/ the gun. Manuals are kept on a filing cabinet so I can easy access to them. I always toss the stupid gun locks. I'm sure this will hurt me if I ever sell any. It's a good thing I don't. I look for auctions w/ no boxes or manuals. I buy them to shoot so they box really means nothing. Manuals are nice to have but the internet has made their possession not as important.

All my pistol boxes are hard plastic so I've kept them. I could actually use them for airline carry. I bought a metal case for that but I have space so I keep them. I keep my .22 pistol in the box and bring it to the range. My rem 870 bought used didn't have a box but was like new and the LGS gave me a heavy cloth cover. My Mosin came from J&G in a nice cardboard box and I have it in the garage.

I wish I had the Colt rifle box that my AR15 came in back in 1966.
I have managed to keep all of the other ones for rifles and pistols though.

I keep them all in the loft of my barn. Just as easy to put them up there as it is to take them to the dump, and I have found that having the box will often make a difference in $$ when selling or trading.
