Matched Pair of 1911's in the Movies

In "Face Off", Nicholas wore a pair of matching guns behind his back. Travolta was in the movie as well. It is not one of my favorite movies, but it's the only one, I could remember, with an actor carrying a pair of matching guns.

I sure there must be some Westerns with cowboys wearing matching guns, but I can't think of one right now. Ops, I take that back. Kostner in "Silverado".

BTW, in "Last Man Standing", I believe the guns were Browning Hi Power 9s, not 1911s.

In Last Man Standing with Bruce Willis his character carries Colt 45 Autos.
There is a pretty cool scene where he is loading a bunch of spare magazines at the table in his hotel room.

Most movies are terrible misrepresentations of firearms, technique, tactics and gun owners. Infinite repeaters, vicious misanthropes, absurd effects all feed into the horrible myths that Antis use against us with an ignorant public that is fed a constant diet of lies.

The Quick and the Dead, which had a lot of big name stars had some two gun men.

Ace, one of the gunmen hired to kill Gene Hackman's character had matching SAAs. He brags about being just as good with either hand.

Gene Hackman's character (can't think of his name) has matched SAAs.

I believe the Kid (played by Leo Dicaprio) had matched SAAs as well.

Very unrealistic movie, but entertaining.

I really like the movie 'Hitman' and Timothy Olyphant's character number 47. He used a great set of stainless Para Ordnance 1911 style 9mms with suppressors.

Going back to my favorite movies here...not sure which is actually my favorite.
Young Guns where Estevez is shooting Colt Thunderers
Boondocks Saints where they regularly "dual wield" more modern guns, especially the scene where they are in a gunfight with their father who is wearing a multitude of matched pairs, or the scene where they drop through the ceiling tangled up in rope and just kinda spin around each unloading a pair of...Beretta 92fs?...into a room full of guys.

The Matrix

Pair of Beretta 84s (Trinity)

2 Pairs of Beretta 92s
Pair of MP5Ks
Pair of Skorpions (Neo, at the same time)

Also, the compensated HKs on Tomb Raider

Both movies had issues, but the gun pairs are the focus of this thread, right? And if we are strictly with 1911's, then Thomas Jane's 1911's in The Punisher get my vote.

Actually in The Mummy he carried both the revolvers and 1911s. When he empties the revolvers in the first fight at Hamunaptra he switches to the 1911s.

Hapless Wilber in The Maltese Falcon had a 1911 in both pockets of an overcoat.
He probably didn't figure on doing any running. :D
Diverging from the pairs theme, my favorite movie re guns was Outlaw Josie Wales. I guess had pairs, just not matched.

I am an old man now, but Roy Rogers and the Lone Ranger are the first two that come to mind.

Not my favorite, but it's a dual-wielder not yet mentioned... Antonio Banderas in Desperado with dual Ruger KP90s.

I can't say I have a definite favorite.

Yep, Hollywood gives anitgun folks incorrect ideas about guns and shooters. But......

This is one of my favorite movies, and favorite gun scenes in a movie. He fires more than twelve shots I believe, but considering he is shooting at point blank range, and that's one of the few ways you could actually shoot two guns at once accurately, I think it's one of the more accurate depictions.

Dan Akyroyd assassination using two S&W 629 Percormance Center 44 mags.

Been thinking awhile. Wild Bill Hickok was known to carry two Colt 1851 navy revolvers to great affect and no Hollywood involved.
I can say that I was taught a New York reload long ago by a NYPD officer. I am in agreement that actors who shoot akimbo leave me skeptical. However a pair of jframes and a bit of practice in shooting and transfer of firearms is never a bad idea for a point shooter.
