The gun you want but never buy even when you can

For me probably the Glock 19. I'm not really a Glock fan boy, but I recognize how logical and space efficient the 19 is: small enough to EDC, big enough to still be easy to shoot, holds lots of bullets, tend to be reliable.

I just invariably end up with full size pistols in calibers other than 9mm.

I'm going to have to change my answer this thread combined with finding a good price inspired me to just go ahead and get the hi power.

Well for me, it WAS the 1911. But, not anymore.

I know this is the semi-auto forum, but for me it's always been a good quality .357 magnum of some sort. Seemed like I always bought something else instead, whether semi-auto or revolver. I own a few .38 specials, but never had a .357 . . . until yesterday. I found and purchased a S&W model 65-3 (pre-lock, pre-MIM parts) that looks completely unused. And got a great price on it too.

Ok, back to semi-auto talk.

A Naval Luger along with the shoulder stock/holster, or I guess I could cheapen out and go for the Artillery Luger with shoulder stock/holster and matching snail drum magazine.

An M1A, because of ammo prices or the very tedious trouble to reload.
A WW1 Enfield 1917 (M2 Ball) for the same reasons.

A CZ 75 Compact. With seven nice handguns already, don't need another.

Well I did it again. Went in looking at 1911s and walked out with a Glock G19.

For me a 1908 Colt .380. I'd buy it along with a Fedora and a double brested suit just so I could say "Here's lookin at you kid".
Of course that's assuming a Lauren Becall look alike came with the deal.

If one drops in my lap cheap enough I'll buy it but I don't need any of these really.

I feel the same way about Uberti's No. 3 and Russian as well! Why you can even add their 1875 Remington to the list too!

Back in the day I passed on a Sig 226. Coming into one now is tough because those German made ones are held tightly. Since then that empty spot kept nagging me even though a 2022 was added to reduce the urge. (It didn't BTW.) That moved me to wanting a current 226 (Navy variant) or 229. I could buy one at street prices though that push to open the wallet hasn't happened. This has been a "do I" or "not" proposition and not a week goes by that I ponder what to do.

a few years ago, I saw a Colt Delta Elite (10mm) with real ivory grips on Gunbroker for (somewhere around) $1200. I had the cash, and I should have purchased it.

I have several .357's. Good Rugers and Smiths, but, of course, I want a Python. Then reality sets in and I realize I'm not about to let go of $2000+ to scratch that itch. The same goes for the Korth offerings. That type of $ spent on a firearm would send my better half into hyper turbo overdrive screaming wife mode and I would NEVER hear the end of that.....ever.
So I keep the Korth lust well hidden.

For a long time I wanted a Glock 19 and always passed it up for something else.

I've been wanting a 44 magnum for a long time, that one gets passed up.

Desert Eagle in 44mag. Damn "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man".

A lever action Marlin in .41mag and a SA 1911 in 38super.

The list is long. I can only give you the top part of it:

For me its the Seecamp in .32. I have a bunch of compact and subcompact handguns but they are either play guns (FEG .32 and antique .32's) or business guns (Ruger LCP). Something about the Seecamp's aesthetic is really excellent - it has a style that the space-ninja guns just can't match. Since I don't really think 380 has an advantage over 32, I don't know why I haven't picked one up to replace the Ruger. I've walked out of the LGS with four different pieces when I went in the grab the seecamp. Oh well, maybe next time.

For me, it isn't really an kind of Grail Gun, but just good firearms that are so easy to buy that I've never made any real attempt to buy them. They are the "I'll eventually get around to it" guns.

Ruger GP100 stainless
a levergun in .357 mag

For me it is the colt Python. Always seemed overpriced to me. Should have bought one 40 years ago.
