I saw a light attachment for a Dillon press last year, that impressed me. It made it so much easier to see what was going on, including how much powder gets loaded.

I'm not sure what the company name was, but after some searching this morning. I found Inline Fabrication - I think that's what I remember from last year.

When I called them about a light kit for an RCBS Pro2000 the support person sent me to this web page:

I ordered one - should have it in less than a week. Will post photos.

Here's a link to their web page of other lighting kits for reloading:

Dan makes some nice products. Not sure if he makes one for your press, but his Ergo roller handles are nice.

Ordered a light kit for my lnl from inline. I think I ordered it on a Thursday or Friday and it was in Monday's mail. It was easy to install and is perfect for lighting up the insides of the press. Very happy with it so far.

I use a clamp on LED book light from Dollar Tree. It set me back a whole buck. A Dollar Tree LED flashlight perched on the center hole in the top of the press also does a great job.

Thanks for the info - I actually found it a couple of hours ago, but only because I got curious about his other products. Had I not done that, and seen your post, I'd be checking right now.
Very tempting - I love the roller handle on my RCBS Big Max, and I think this would be just as nice. I wish Dan would have mentioned it earlier, but I guess there's no rush - I should at least try the stock handle first, maybe...

Can you adjust the brightness of his lights, or is it just on/off ?

The LEDs are not adjustable for brightness. What you do to adjust brightness is install more or fewer LEDs.

If you purchased what you have pictured, you have the middle-of-the-road setup. The starter setup is just the verticle string that faces away from you. A step up, what you have, adds the horizontal strip mounted on the rear support. The full setup would include the "Skylight" that shines through the center of the top platform...but since you don't have a central hole, the last isn't available.

You might try one LED strip before adding the other

For the purpose of seeing the powder better, that means looking at it in station 4, after the powder drop in #3. Looking at the press, the only light likely to illuminate the powder is the light towards the rear. Does the light on the front do anything useful?

Those are definately nice, but for anymore with a work bench only using the room/garage lights, build a simple top layer shelf for a 4' LED shop light. MAN it is soooo nice. I dont know how I ever worked on a single layer bench before

I'm loading on a Hornady LNL AP, with the powder measure at Station 3, and the only strip of LED I use, to look into the case, is the front one.

I check each case for powder level just before it enters the Bullet Feeder die

Here is an economical and efficient way to get light directly into the case. It will allow you to make certain that you have dispensed the correct amount of powder.

This is a small gooseneck lamp (7" flexible segment) with 20 LED, a magnetic mounting base, and an off/on switch. It will adhere securely to the side of the press, and you can adjust its position to illuminate the inside of the case. (You can get a 10 LED model if you wish, and it costs even less.) It's the most cost-effective solution I've found.

Here is a link that I hope will prove helpful.

Same thing I use! If you search around on Amazon, you can find that same light for $10.

I placed a small metal piece of angle on a area on bench for my p. measure so I could monitor static on my redding 10x. Let me add this if you use a LARRY light try a lux pro lp137 as for a flashlight style. Found them new @ LOWES for under 10 bucks. Magnet was week but adjustable also.

Off to a good start....

This is not a good way to start my first post.
I disagree with 9mmepiphany in his statement that LEDs are not adjustable for brightness. They are. LEDs are a Voltage driven device, raise or lower the Voltage and the brightness adjusts.
I made a LED light for my RCBS progressive from parts I had laying around.
Shines down inside the case so I can visually check powder amount.
I hope I'm not in trouble.......my first post. Sheesh, what a way to begin.

"I'm going to guess from this that you aren't using one of the popular aluminum progressive presses"

Response: I'm using a Dillon 550B, and the magnetic base of the light is attached to the Dillon Strong Mount.

Not a problem. You're correct LEDs are adjustable for brightness, however...

I was referring to the LED units mentioned in the post I was answering. Those LED units do not come with a brightness adjustment

BTW: Welcome to the forum :D

Hi everyone - when I asked the question, while I know LED's can be dimmed (I have them in my ceiling lights in the living room), my question probably should have been worded to ask if the lights from Dan come with a dimming control.

I like the one 'mpssrh' posted the link for. I think I'll also get one of those. I can then put away my flashlight. :)

Response: That's correct. I'm using a Dillon 550B...no problems with magnetic attraction to that press.

Uh :uhoh:...unless you meant the above as sarcasm

The Dillon 550B is aluminum.

Thank you 9mm,
Sorry I didn't catch your drift. I've learned a lot from this forum and your posts over the years of lurking. I hope to contribute something worthwhile eventually.

I use a booklight from the dollar store as well with my LEE Classic Turret, works awesome and....drum roll please.....it only cost $1!

Just wanted to say that I ordered one last week, and it arrived yesterday. It is perfect. I already have the light kit from Dan, but this just added to the lighting. It's nice that it is so easy to adjust. Yes, inexpensive, too ($15).

The one they sent me, model 820M has 20 LED's, more than what is shown in the on-line photo.
